The entire birther argument, that Obama was actually born in Kenya instead of the US, making him ineligible for holding the office of the President of the US, is a spurious argument. It plays into Obama and the liberals hands - they want this to continue since it makes regular conservatives and opponents into fringe wackos.
Not one of us would've looked harder at his legitimacy than Hilary Clinton and the entire Clinton smear machine during the Democratic primaries. That magic bullet would've given Hilary the presidency - and yet nada, bupkis.
There are many valid reasons to oppose Obama and the liberals, but his birthplace isn't one of them.
“If his dad is not a US citizen, he is not a NBC. Any 5th grader knows that.”
I guess 5th graders dont get to read SCOTUS Wong Kim Ark ruling, Perkins v Elg and more recent rulings.
Well, yes, its the least of it. Compared to the trillions we may be on the hook for due to his legislation, and the likely knock on economic effects of the rest of what he wants, its trivial beyond words.
Perspective is a prime conservative virtue, I highly recommend Russell Kirk on this. So is common sense.
That’s hearsay. We want to see the physical evidence, which can easily be released upon the simple signature of the man who calls himself Barack Obama.
One last time: Do you or do you not want to see the documentation that will prove whether or not he, as an adult, affirmed his foreign citizenship?
I’ll look for your reply to this question you’ve been carefully avoiding tomorrow.
“For you birthers are someone that obsesses about the question of the legit. of Obamas presidency based on the fact that he may not be legally a natural born citizen”
What else are they, if not that? Perhaps people who want the certificate released without any thought to what’s contained therein. They are no doubt a small bunch, but fine, let them join in.
Seriously, what’s the matter with labeling them?
“I guess 5th graders dont get to read SCOTUS Wong Kim Ark ruling”
They just haven’t learned to ‘read between the lines’ like you have. It doesn’t say what you say it does. but you think it does, and that’s good enought for you.
Hardly, if he attended as a citizen of a foreign power.
Passport records are relevent, but any such suit is nothing more than a fishing expedition on this point without any evidence for such a renunciation.
Again, the burden of proof is on him, not us. We're talking about the Presidency of the United States.
His, and your, disregard for his real or even perceived lack of legitimacy in office is breath-taking.
“It doesnt say what you say it does. but you think it does, and thats good enought for you.”
Okay, maybe it doesn’t say what we believe, loud and clear (or as clearly as the 14th itself), mostly because they weren’t ruling on presidential eligibility. But they go a long way towards it, whereas nothing in the entire U.S. legal cannon backs up your supposition.
I would like to point up the fact that not only are we now battling the obfuscations and attacks of the Obama faction, the Republican political establishment is now fully engaged in attempting to belittle and marginalize millions of Americans who simply want iron-clad proof that the Constitution of the United States is being observed and followed.
Interesting, in light of the myriad ways in which that same political establishment, of both “major” parties, continues to show such little regard for that document and their sworn oaths to uphold and defend it.
I honestly don’t know whether some of these “anti-birthers” are just incapable of digesting simple logic and reasoning, or if they just reject arguments and airtight analysis that doesn’t fit their pre-conceived considerations on this subject out of hand.
Some of the most eloquent and well reasoned posts I’ve ever read on this site are posted in the Obama bc threads. Yet even posts that are worthy of the best of the Founders are routinely dismissed by those who simply have dug in their heels on this subject.
I feel that debate and puzzling out differing viewpoints on current events is a good thing for a healthy community, so it’s not surprising to me that even the willfully ignorant around here are allowed to have their say. They do their part by stimulating the rest of us. Sparring keeps one sharp.
But, reading someone posting the same convoluted arguments in Barry’s defense, over, and over, and over again, can become more than a bit tiresome.
You're missing the side of the barn if you think this is about politics.
Great post!
-> -> No, he isn't. He is a joke. He is a pathetic wannabe who can't even get nominated as the Constipation party candidate. He is as relevant as whale oil, and as needed as the Edsel. He is as popular as New Coke and and as popular as the XFL. As Monty Python would say "He is an ex-parrot" <-<-
I cannot believe that you just said those vile things about one the finest patriots in America.
Your mouth and your attitude are indistinguishable from the moronic pukes at DU. I'd like to see you slander Alan Keyes that way in front of a live group of Freepers.
Who is “you” ? What fantasy person are you arguing with ?
I didn’t vote for him. I don’t think anybody commenting here voted for him. Everybody commenting on this site knew he was a con-man.
That is not the issue. The point, to a rational person using his God-given common sense, is what to do about it now.
Do you know what what said - how did it happen?

If you search their posts you can see that they are O’Bots.
Same blah~blah~blah on every thread,,,
Also,,,FR has been under DOS attacks for months from what

Er, what is it about if not politics ? You want to remove a President, right ? Or at least make him lose the next election, and the other members of his party lose their seats ? And the reason you want to do it is because you oppose their policies and prefer different policies ?
I know thats just what I want, and thats all that I want.
Thats the only thing that matters.
It called a cover up.... So much for openness and uniting the country.
