Durham, N.C. Duke University has fired an employee who faces federal child sex charges. Frank M. Lombard, 42, of 24 Indigo Creek Trail in Durham, was let go from his position as associate director of the Center for Health Policy at Duke, a spokesman said.
Duke Vice President for Public Affairs Michael Schoenfeld said Lombard was placed on unpaid leave at the time of his arrest June 24 and was fired Monday. Schoenfeld added that the university was cooperating with the investigation.
Lombard faces extradition to Washington, D.C., to face charges that he solicited an adult to have sex with his adopted 5-year-old child.
Officers of Washington's Metropolitan Police Department and the FBIs Charlotte Division worked together to investigate claims against Lombard.
According to the affidavit for his arrest, an undercover officer from the Washington police identified Lombard through an Internet sting.
A search warrant filed for Lombard's house further outlines the case against him and includes a transcript of the chat between an undercover officer and "F.L."
In the chat, "F.L. told the officer that abusing the child was "easier when he was too young to know what was happening and when he couldn't talk ...He had a little too much Benadryl. Was knocked out."
In a subsequent online chat, the warrant says, F.L. invited the officer to fly to Durham to have sexual contact with the child. He even suggested a hotel.
Lombard faces a federal charge of attempting to induce someone to cross state lines to engage in a sexual offense. He was being held without bond at the Durham County jail Friday. A conviction would carry a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison

One other quick note about the New Black Panthers: you people do remember that the NBP showed up at one of the first Duke lacrosse boys’ hearings, my recollection being that it was the arraignment of Reade Seligman, and loudly stated as Reade, his attorney and family turned away from the bar and starting through the audience area, “DEAD MAN WALKING! DEAD MAN WALKING!” The judge and bailiff did NOTHING about it, even though before the proceedings started the judge stated outbursts would not be tolerated.
Will that same loudmouth beast or one of his idiotic brethren-in-crime show up and say the same about this defendant?
They are scum, and the complete Durham criminal justice system are nothing but corrupt scum.
And the Duke professors who publicly harassed and mistreated the lacrosse boys......where are they this time? This time they really do have an actual victim. A little boy truly has been sexually assaulted, raped, abused and pimped, yet not a peep or a whisper out of the Duke professors.
I don’t recognize my country anymore. Our culture has become wanton and depraved, vile and ugly, and filled with cowards and parasites.
"One of the earlier reports on former Duke University professor, Frank Lombard showed a complaint of Lombard saying he was "into incest.""
But it says "former" and how many Frank Lombards can there be at Duke.
The other source referred to him as an "associate professor", and it seemed to be a fairly authoritative post, rich in details.
That's where I got the crazy idea he might be a prof instead of just an "employee" as the MSM would want us to believe.
OK...you got me there. Perhaps we could run him down a Native American-style gauntlet on his way to the gallows.
Took long enough.
Thanks for the clarification about the boys being taken into social services. Those poor kids. They will need so much therapy.
Yes, total silence from the usual diversity and race hustlers.
( ( ( crickets ) ) )
He’ll need solitary confinement for his own protection.

The sick perv may very well have a teaching position at Duke, but he's clearly not a tenured professor. If he was, there's a reasonable chance that he couldn't be fired until after he was convicted of the crimes he's accused.
As for the media description of him, I wouldn't read too much into how they've characterized him. As I said, Obama continues to be labeled as a professor of constitutional law. When if fact, he hasn't even published a single article with respect to constitutional scholarship. But, since he lectured in front of a small class at the University of Chicago, people think he must be a professor.
