The Daily Kos has a post up quoting MSNBC personality David Shuster's Twitter page stating his show will be covering the controversy over Free Republic and comments about Malia Obama:

Excellent find on this guy Sheester or whatever his name is. "Pimpin" is hurtful and the direct reference to CC conjures up one of the most demoralizing acts that can foisted upon the fairer sex. I strongly suspect this indv is bigoted against anyone to the right of Obama; even Hillary Clinton, and he's demonstrably not above targeting their children in order to destroy them. Now isn't that ironic.

Regardless, we are talking about the child of a marxist wearing that symbol to a country where there was a G8 meeting. Picture the Palin children dressed that way and the outcry.

Do I believe we should attack children? No. Do I believe that her parents knew what they were doing when they allowed her to dress that way? YES. Do I think it should be pointed out and blamed on her marxist parents? Yes.

Tonight’s troll has been a staunch defender of Obama here for months. I got tired of trudging through the entire post history, but it dates back at least 18 months.

I agree with you completely. I have been a member here since 1997 and I can tell you that the discourse has deteriorated significantly in the last few years. This used to be a site where people of conservative/libertarian bent came to intelligently discuss politics, religion, science etc. Now we have too many on here that have no concern about personal attacks and name calling when someone disagrees with them.

It was probably only a matter of time before we started to slip to DailyKos and DU level of classlessness. I am also tired of the argument well they do it to us. That sounds like the laments of a 3rd grader. As my dad used to say life ain't fair and the sooner you learn that the better off you will be. There will never be a level playing field, but that doesn't mean we sink to their level. You can stay on the high road and still prevail. This is just what they want us to do, get down in the dirt with them so they can call in the media to smear us before the public. Kids are off limits period. If the Left doesn't feel compelled to play by those rules then we will just have to be better than them won't we? I miss the good old days.
