Dont shoot back!
Dont pick the poppies!
And dont bother the women and men in burqas!
These are the new rules of engagement for leathernecks in Afghanistan.
Sound incredible?
Theyre true.
Welcome to the modern Marine Corps under Commander-in-Chief Barack Hussein Obama
On July 1, the U.S. military initiated Operation Khanjar or Strike of the Sword, an invasion of the Helmand Province by 4,000 Marines and 650 Afghan soldiers.
Strike of the Sword represents the first military operation to be ordered by President Obama.
The purpose of the campaign is to flush out Taliban operatives from southern Afghanistan in order to safeguard the re-election of Afghan President Hamid Karzai on August 20.
The military initiative is being conducted by the insistence of Kharzai, who fears that a strong Taliban presence will produce unfavorable results for him on election-day. To accomplish this objective, President Obama remains determined to deploy 68,000 additional U.S. troops to southern Afghanistan within the next six weeks.
But the Marines, thanks to Mr. Obama, are conducting this mission with their hands tied.

Semper Fi F@#$% the KCIC....
No wonder this administration is worried about conservatives and activists and former military. Obammy is trying to get our soldiers killed.
I hope he and his minions are as worried as are the mullahs in Iran.

I think it's a mistake not to read the entire article.
You might want to have the admins. pull this thread.
I tried several times to get to the linked page and kept getting this:
Error 404 - Not Found
The page template loads fine with all the ads, etc. just no article.
Sorry I did not get back to you, I went to bed after posting this, to upset to read anymore news. Anyway, this morning I clicked the link and it seems to be working fine.
I remember the cover of Time mag, in big bold letters: “Another 500 Week!” over picture of dead US servicemen. Best propoganda tool North Vietnam ever had!

BTTT
That and Jane.
What is the point of even going on patrols? Might as well just sit on the base and “enjoy” the “comforts” instead of getting killed for a pretend prez.
Welcome to Vietnam.
Pray for America and Our Troops
To the media of every stripe, talk host, ink-stained wretch, talking head--
Tell me again this is a Christian American whose only mistakes are innocently explained.
I submit he plans our humiliating defeat in Afghanistan, at a terrible cost.
The line in Platoon was "gooks in the wire"--
The Communists have their man in the Oval Office--
Not a "man" so much as a bearded-up swish, but you catch my drift.
“Vietnam War about 500 of our military were dying every week”
...which CBS discussed at the end of every Friday newscast, complete w/ pix & footage.
“He wants to get our boys killed.”
The Only logical conclusion
Ummmm why are we “safeguarding” the re-election versus just the election ?
That is bothersome as well ........
“1968 recorded the most deaths by year in Vietnam - 16,592.”
Worth repeating.
Looks like our warriors won’t be getting any “Bailouts”.
“White House cuts funding for (Soldier) gear (Armored vests & Armored Vehicles”

Ditto
It’s a war zone, kill anything that moves!!!
I remember the Ford and Carter years. I was active duty in both. Actually Carter didn't take office till 77 which means the military problems in 1976 were Ford and Dec of Def Rummy's doings. And there were problems which was part of what was the set up for the Carter years. This is far worse and far worse has been done to the military since Carter left office and before Osbama got in.
We have a GOP POTUS picked Sec of Defense who refuses to in protest step down. Why is Gates remaining as SEC of Def a problem? Because it gives the appearance of GOP approval and credibility to Osbama's military policy.
Carter made some horrid mistakes and ranks among the worse presidents but destroying our military was not among them. Reagan inherited a more ready and disciplined Navy than what Ford handed Carter. I remember the 77-80 changes real well especially from 78-80.
The military has been on a downward spiral in manpower and equipment since the days of Poppy Bush and no one DEM or GOP {except a vocal few in congress} has even raised a voice or hand to correct matters. Two GOP presidents after Reagan didn't care nor have two DEM presidents either. A GOP house and senate majority didn't care under Clinton or Bush Jr, nor has a two house majority DEM cared since. Why would they care now any of them?
Osbama needs to have his hand called on this issue. You don't tie the hands of troops with insane R.O.E.'s. Gates needs to grow a spine and either start standing up and speaking out in opposition or resign. In 2010 I hope some men and women of character and conscience run in the GOP or Independents and I hope the Rockefeller Republicans who have helped get us where we are get tossed out on their seats along with the DEMs they enabled since 1995.
Your absolutely right. I also served under Carter, and until that time, was very politically ignorant. It was during this time of service that I became politically aware, and discovered my conservative roots.
Thank you also for placing into proper context the downfall of our Military over the past few decades. You catalog nicely the Liberal GOP's hand in conspiring with the Liberal Democrats in bringing this about.
