Former Bay State Gov. Mitt Romney is locked in a statistical dead heat with Sarah Palin for the 2012 GOP presidential nomination, despite the Alaska governor’s abrupt resignation last week, according to a new poll of Republican voters.

Romney leads all Republican presidential contenders, garnering 25 percent of the vote, edging out Palin (24 percent), former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee (22) and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich (14 percent) in the Rasmussen poll released yesterday.

"Personally, that's also the reason why I'd pick Gingrich over Palin anytime."

I cannot imagine how a person that would prefer Ginrich the global socialist over Palin the Christian conservative patriot would wish to post on this forum.

The daily Palin versus Romney piss fest. Let's sink both candidates and keep it up until the date Obama is re-elected. Yah, that's the best strategy. Both have some upside and both some flaws as Presidential options, but they should duke it out on policy for us to decide when the time comes, and then merge all support for the ultimate goal— a defeat of the commies in power, starting in 2010.
This rational post will surely get venomous hits from both camps, but that's probably why these Freepathons last 2 months now: most rational discussions have departed this forum and too many stellar FRiends have had their fill and departed.

They'd rather fudge us.

What a terrible choice they have then. I detest nanny-staters who put on a conservative face like Perry. He is a former Dem too.

You are a pro-abortion troll and a Romney troll, are you denying that you are pro abortion?

He has business experience.

So does George Soros, Bill Gates, Peter Lewis, and lots of other uber-liberals. Business acumen and setting sound fiscal policy are not necessarily the same skill. Romney's performance in Massachusetts shows that he clearly lacks the latter skill. IMO, the further Mitt Romney is away from influencing policy, the better it will be for the conservative movement.

One thing about Palin, she is no phoney. Not perfect but that is somewhat of a plus too. Romney is a shyster. Palin needs to avoid the tabloids and lay low and out of sight for about 8 months. Them come roaring back.

It isn't too far of a stretch to consider Zero to be the second coming of Jimmuh Carter.

Hence, it probably isn't too far of a stretch to consider who came in to clean up the mess...
