Former Bay State Gov. Mitt Romney is locked in a statistical dead heat with Sarah Palin for the 2012 GOP presidential nomination, despite the Alaska governors abrupt resignation last week, according to a new poll of Republican voters.
Romney leads all Republican presidential contenders, garnering 25 percent of the vote, edging out Palin (24 percent), former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee (22) and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich (14 percent) in the Rasmussen poll released yesterday.

I believe Romney had one of the lowest return on investments (in terms of votes gained per dollars spent) than any other candidate for the R nomination in a loooooong time.
If you cannot get people enthused enough to give you THEIR money, such that you have to spend your own, and if you cannot “sell” your “product” even after an expensive ad campaign- then maybe the problem isn't with the “customers” but with the product.

If Sarah is in a 'dead heat' now, what's she gonna be when she really campaigns?
I think Romney is watching his dreams get crushed under a high heel.

Mitt needs to take a charm course. He is as wooden as Al Gore used to me, before Al went nuts and accused Bush of treason.

How is this possible? Everyone “knows” Mitt is a nonstarter.
Why, just look at his record of failed programs.
Or that fact that his is rich, you just know somebody had to lose for him to get that rich.
Oh well, maybe he could elected to something in Utah - he did save thier bacon after all.

Palin still led all potential candidates in favorability with 76 percent.
Romney was second with a 73 percent favorability rating.
The poll also found that 75 percent of voters believe a GOP candidate could defeat President Obama,
41 percent of whom said it was very likely.

That they would even mention Myth Romney and Gomer “Fried Squirrel” Huckabee in the same sentence as Sarah Palin shows the denial the MSM is in. If the primaries were held today, Governor Palin would be the GOP standard-bearer by a landslide! Take a look:
