Former Bay State Gov. Mitt Romney is locked in a statistical dead heat with Sarah Palin for the 2012 GOP presidential nomination, despite the Alaska governor’s abrupt resignation last week, according to a new poll of Republican voters.

Romney leads all Republican presidential contenders, garnering 25 percent of the vote, edging out Palin (24 percent), former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee (22) and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich (14 percent) in the Rasmussen poll released yesterday.

Huckabee supports cap-and-tax just like McCain. Why in the hell would any conservative want him?

I will not vote republican again if Romney is the nominee. Neither will most of my family.

Why?

Because if we accept another RINO. we will always accept RINOs. It time to take a stand, or move on.

Secondly, Obama will have made most of his changes in the first term. What we need is someone to wind them back. Romney will not do that. To me, its almost as bad as having Obama in for a second term, because at least Obama is a democrat, we know where he stands and his ability to change things will get more and more limited. Roney SHOULD govern as a conservative if elected, but he won’t.

A double betrayal imo.

Neither Romney nor Huckabee are true conservatives by any stretch of the imagination. But I prefer Huckabee, at least he doesn’t do flat turn spins on each and every postion.

Just leave things alone for awhile, 2008 is over, let’s see who our current champions are.

As the MSM and DNC have ready, Romney will give
the GOP the aura of gay marriage, failed socialized
medicine, flip-flopping, polygamy, carpetbagging
and whining backstabbing.

How about simply: honest conservatism?

"These guns are not made for recreation or self-defense,

They are instruments of destruction with the sole purpose of hunting down and killing people."

Mitt Romney

Has Mitt ever owned a gun? We know that no one in his family has been in the military. If he is completely inexperienced with regard to this issue, it's probably not surprising that he has no understanding of the Second Amendment.

No matter how you spin it, that’s how it appears.

It showed me she is a fighter. It heightened my opinion of her greatly. It showed me if someone is going to take a swipe at her, she is going to hit back. Just wait and see how she handles it once she officially steps down as governor.

Oh yes, we want Newt, so he can go around arm in arm with Al Gore preaching to us about global warming. No thanks. Give me Sarah any day.

Palin lost buncha points with her “I give up” announcement.
No matter how you spin it, that’s how it appears.

Agree. Six-college Sarah is a flake.

Palin lost buncha points with her “I give up” announcement.

Fact: Her popularity is increasing, and will continue to do so.

No matter how you spin it, that’s how it appears.

Fact: Your opinion, and one, I'd add, in the minority.

Six-college Sarah is a flake.

Thomas Sowell, Fred Malek, and a host of others think the opposite.
I'll go out on a limb and state that the opinion, regarding Palin, of the aforementioned is more credible than that of 'Dagnabitt'.

“I say again, assault weapons, are not designed to kill people?”

You can SAY it all day long. Saying it over and over does not detract from the fact that a weapon, ANY weapon, must be controlled by a human being whether it’s a finger on a trigger, a switch on a detonator, or a button on a panel. That is why they are called weapons and not people, (suicide bombers excluded.) The guide for using any weapon is the intent. Weapons have no intent.

HUMAN BEINGS have intent. Ban them all?????

Is a John Deere Tractor capable of killing people? Yes. Stand in front of one and test the theory. If the guy driving the tractor sees you, but DELIBERATELY runs over you, that is intent. Think they would arrest the tractor?

Likewise pitchforks and other pointy thingies. (You HAVE heard of assault forks, right?)

“Agree. Six-college Sarah is a flake.”

In your dreams. Sarah Palin’s popularity among Republicans is growing exponentially. There is no one on the immediate horizon who could come close.
