Former Bay State Gov. Mitt Romney is locked in a statistical dead heat with Sarah Palin for the 2012 GOP presidential nomination, despite the Alaska governors abrupt resignation last week, according to a new poll of Republican voters.
Romney leads all Republican presidential contenders, garnering 25 percent of the vote, edging out Palin (24 percent), former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee (22) and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich (14 percent) in the Rasmussen poll released yesterday.

Too bad Palin shot herself in the foot by this show of giving up. Far better she fight on as governor. Now she would be looking at 2012 with no governing job on the resume from now till then.
Scratch one really promising Conservative Repub candidate.
Brought down by Dem hate attacks and the One Party Media.
And RINO’s like McCain.
And the splineless Repubs who did not come to her defense, nor attack Dems guilty of far worse.
Our problem is one of having strong enemies and weak friends.
Palin lost buncha points with her “I give up” announcement.
No matter how you spin it, that’s how it appears.
Typical liberal lie. What percentage of those civilian owned weapons have been used to kill someone?
True
Ain't that rich.
What’s the percentage?
I don’t know franly, but it’s relatively small, thank God. I think you’ve quite failed to grasp my point however.
Funny thing is I remember posting something over on Military.com about the liberal playbook on how to undermine the election through the use of misinformation on blogs and messageboards. In the run up to the 2002 midterm and the 2004 Presidential elections Military.com was flooded with these trolls. I got to be quite good at flushing them out especially when Military.com was 99% veterans and these buttwipes couldn’t even answer a simple question about when and where they did Basic Training.
I can tell you from experience is that yes some of them actually do “clock out” and pass the baton to another troll for another 8 hours of stirring the pot. It’s obvious from the different writing style that’s used. Others use multiple screen names and actually reply to themselves to make it look like there is support for position X, or candidate Y.
Where is your head? the AK is just fine for animal control as my brother prefers it for that, what you call the Uzi which is actually a semi-automatic copy of it, shoots the heavier carbine 9mm bullet which most of us don't want to use in our pistols, although I do use them in my Glock pistol occasionally even though I know I shouldn't (I bought them for bear).
By the way, read Mitt Romney's quote again, the guns that you label dangerous , he labels as not useful for defense.
"These guns are not made for recreation or self-defense, They are instruments of destruction with the sole purpose of hunting down and killing people."
Mitt Romney
Case closed.
What does that mean? It is a popular hunting tool and my brother prefers it on his land in New Mexico.
It's microscopic, the lies of the leftist Romney notwithstanding. Conservative gun owners don't have blood on their hands, unlike pro-aborts like Mitt.
You sound quite hysterical.
You’re the one who hysterically and falsely claimed “that these weapons are for killing people...”
Are you ready to try to back that lie up with stats yet?
It's your position then the assault weapons, I say again, assault weapons, are not designed to kill people? Better let the Army know. This has now transitioned from the absurd to the insane.
Goldwater was pro abortion, newbie. That’s his point.
You can't even quote yourself accurately.
Personally, I would prefer that we conservatives speak the truth too...that these weapons are for killing peopleThese civilian owned weapons are almost NEVER used for killing people.
I've noticed a close correlation between a poster's dishonesty and the likelihood that they'll be an apologist for gun grabbers like Romney.
They don't need no steenkin' facts.
I know, if the pro gun crowd moves onto this thread they will take me out almost as fast as they do her because I used words like "hunting" or "sporting" or "defense", because they know that the second amendment is not about any of that conversation, it is about the Bill of Rights and things that cannot be restricted.
I asked you earlier, in your little Romney mind you think that he banned the military weapons?
