^Conservative^ Presidential Primaries
July 6, 2009 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 07/06/2009 1:34:12 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

Well, the presidential primary sweepstakes is heating up already. Many people have written Sarah Palin off. Heck, many thought she never had a chance anyway and they're gloating about it. And, unfortunately, "conservative" Governor Sanford blew his chances. Keep it zipped up fellas.

And the media, as usual, is panting hard for the most liberal Republican they can find in the primary race. Namely, Governor Slick Willard Romney.

Hey, Romney's ok. IF you're one of those liberal/moderate RINO types that loves big government forcing big government "solutions" for health care, etc, down your throat. AND if you can morally ignore his liberal record in Massachusetts that left the state saddled with a bankrupting state run health care system, taxpayer funded abortions, gay marriage, gun control, sanctuary cities, intrusion and government coercion into private matters, etc, etc, etc, AND you've convinced yourself that it wasn't Slick's fault. The liberals made him do it, etc. They don't call him Kennedy's best friend for nothing, y'know.

But I'm a conservative. That means I'm a social conservative, fiscal conservative, small government conservative, national defense conservative and traditional American heritage conservative. And I will support the conservative candidates who best represent my conservative principles and values. In the very least, my conservative candidate will have a strong pro-Life and Liberty record. And he will have an unblemished fiscally conservative, small government, pro-national security, and pro-national defense record!

Will I sit out the race if a socially liberal RINO is nominated? You betcha. I will not participate in the further destruction of the Republican Party. If the Republican Party continues moving left, it will have left me.

That automatically rules out Romney, Rudy, Paul and any other whacked out fools or RINOs. And thank God the old warhorse McCain is too old and feeble to run again. Please, Arizona, put the old guy out to pasture before he does any more damage to party and country.

Would I support Sarah Palin if she decides to run? You betcha! And I would enthusiastically welcome and support Governor Barbour, Senator Sessions, Congressman Pence or Duncan Hunter, et al. Don't know enough about Jindal to say but I'm willing to listen.

And I'm sure there are other conservatives we should consider. Would like for FReepers to post their favorite presidential hopefuls here and list their conservative credentials for our consideration.

RINOs or social liberals need not apply. Enough with the Swartzeneggers, Giulianis, Romneys, McCains, et al. They NEVER work out for us!!

Thanks,

Jim

P.S. Government funded or forced health care is NOT a constitutional right! It's TYRANNY!!

DONT TREAD ON ME!!

I saw a brief news interview with Duncan Hunter, the son, a few months ago.

He was impressive. He will be one to watch after he gets a few years of political experience under his belt.

[And it won’t take that many, considering that The O only had 2 Senate years and Clinton had only 1 full Senate term +20 days in her 2nd term on the national stage.]

,"I’m not thinking about 2012 President runs yet. I’m trying to figure out how to throw the commie bastards out of congress in 2010."

The Conservatives who have honest Presidental aspirations need to start speaking out NOW & backing conservatives who will run for Congress in 2010.

That new Congress will be in place for the new Conservative President to get off to a running start, from day 1 of the swearing in ceremony.

My thoughts on Romney, reflect your thoughts on him identically. He’s not what he is trying to tell folks he is. So not only is he a TedFord Wife, he’s a lefty and a damned liar to boot.

I thought Sarah made a mistake that will cost her some support. I will support her if she runs. I hope enough Independents and Democrats do too, so she’ll be viable candidate.

The views of Duncan Hunter come the closest to my own. He’d have to do a whole lot better organizationally, for him to be viable. I honestly wish he could do it. He’s rock solid.

As for Governor Barbour, Senator Sessions, Congressman Pence, I’d have to learn more. I have liked a lot of what I have seen about Barbour, but I’d like to know more as a candidate, so I could solidify support.

I know a lot of folks panned Jindal’s response to the State of the Union (or whatever that was) last year, LOL. Although he could have laid down the law on what he thought Obama was going to do, I think that would have been seen as consummately unfair. Not by us, but by the general public. He was elected. He was newly installed, there wasn’t much you could say that we would have liked, that would have been well received in that time frame. Next January, we tee off.

Jindal had a tough task. He handled it very well. Of course the media lambasted him. Stop and thing about it folks. He talked about his immigrant parents, and his grass roots. Tell me you don’t think the media panning that wasn’t a little suspicious.

Jindal has governed well. I think he’s a good guy.

More power to him, and also the other people mentioned. We expect big things from one of them, or an as yet unknown.

Please folks, no more McCain. No more Romney. Huckabee has a great day job now, (My dad would call lightening down from heaven) so let’s let him do what he does best (part of the time)... talk.

Huckabee came to the first Inauguration Ball under Bush, and brought his band with him. They were great. As a person I do like him. As a politician, he’s a great player in the band. Sorry Huck.

Sarah should promise them cabinet positions if they support her candidacy:

Romney: Sec Treas
Rudy: Homeland Security
McCain: Sec Def
Huckster: WH press sec (I'd love to see the exchange between Huck and Helen Thomas :^)

I can dream, can't I?

Bolton ALWAYS knows what to say, how to say it and pulls no punches. He NEVER accepts the liberals’ premise. That is the key!

It’s never too early to think ahead. I’m a conserve American citizens first conservative, not an idealog. There will be no recovery until there is a job recovery. I’m waiting for the candidate who will get out front in advocating restoring the exported jobs to the economy. I don’t see one.

We have been living in a ‘sell only’ economic model featuring more Walmarts, Shopping centers and strip malls. The consumer’s lack of earning money is obscured by the government providing consumer stimulus to keep goosing up the ‘sell only’ economy. That well is running dry.

Real trade is we buy from you and you buy from us. If our trade partners won’t fulfill that arrangement then we need to stop exporting factories and dollars and MAKE HERE, MAKE NOW.

Suckabee is a bastard too.

In 2007, he joined McLame in supporting cap-and-tax.

NO!

Why should Palin surround herself with RINO traitors?

For AZ Senator, I hope. He can’t really be dumb enough to think he might want to go round 3, can he? Please, Arizonians, vote in JD Hayworth and let’s be rid of Sen. McCain once and for all.

Very nice! I think the only room for improvement is on the Sec Def position. How about, oh, I don’t know, Ann Coulter for Sec Def?

I will be campaigning in western New Hampshire for the following person:
The conservative alternative to Romney coming out of Iowa. I will NOT be supporting the conservative candidate in 4th place with 9% of the vote.

Therefore, if Pence, Barbour, Palin, et al are serious, they need to come in 1st or 2nd in the Iowa caucus. Don’t pull a Fred Thompson on us and expect support from the grassroots if you aren’t going to compete aggressively.
