Pelosi Won't Give Public a Week to Review Text of Health-Care Bill Before House Votes on It
SNIPPET: "At her press briefing on Thursday, Pelosi was asked whether the health-care bill would be handled differently than the stimulus bill, which came up in February. The 1,071-page final text of that bill was posted on the House Appropriations Committees Web site late on a Thursday night and then voted on the next day.
When the stimulus bill came out earlier this year, members and citizens had less than two days to review the final version that came out of the conference committee before it was voted on, CNSNews.com asked Pelosi on Thursday. Will you commit to giving Americans at least a week to review the full conference version of the health care bill before it is voted on? And also will you commit to submitting the final version to the CBO [Congressional Budget Office] so that they can report the cost to the public?
Pelosi would not commit to giving the public a week to review the bill, and did not respond to the question of having the CBO report on the cost of the final bill."

Maybe the FReepin' Legal Eagles out there could tell us. IANAL.
What is Dodd doing to Bwaani Fwank’s rear in this picture?? It sure doesn’t look like acceptable public behavior, except of course, by amoral,Terrorist, Godless Demorats!! :-(
You know.....the Left really scares me.
“In all seriousness, and I hesitate to use this phrase, there should be a law that requires bills to have 15-30 days for public / representative / senator review before they are allowed to come to vote.”
Why don’t we each start petitioning our representatives to do exactly that? I think it should first be well publicised, perhaps at the July 4th Tea Parties. It wouldn’t do any good unless they suddenly got thousands of letters/ emails/ faxes in a short period of time.
I could see some rep sponsoring the bill just to look good to his constituents, especially one of the blue dog dems.
Bingo. There doesn't seem to be a downside for demanding this law IMO. If anything is common sense it is that you read the flippin' bill before you debate it, much less sign it!
FReep the lawmakers!
Oh, we can’t inform the rubes in such large doses. It only confuses them and then they pester their Representatives. They are such a bother, these commoners.

“Pelosi would not commit to giving the public a week to review the bill, and did not respond to the question of having the CBO report on the cost of the final bill.”
I guess they don’t have to. They won.
Imagine the shrill screams of the democrat media machine were this a Republican Congress.
Something is mighty wrong with this picture.
Our reps have a chance to go down in history as having saved America from Socialism.

Let's roll people.
we can have a credit card reform bill that simplifies language in legal documents because people are too stupid to read what they sign, can we not have the same standard for bills before they become law?
Removing my own words before I post them...
Let’s just say IMO she’s a Mafia Queen.
Should we be asking if some of these people will gladly ware the next electoral defeat as a badge of honor? The policy agenda, if rammed through, might lionize these figures forever to the left -superstar status. Falling on the sword of social justice.
St. Algore could have made so much more of his defeat were he not such a duffas. None the less, Al Gore will collect a huge dividend with the passage of Crap-n-Trade.
When the new Republicans with “nads” take back the WH, I am hoping they learned a lesson and remember just how it works...first you replace everyone from the socialist side. That’s a start.
Let’s just say I hope she dies painfully quickly and she can take the rest of the liberal communists with her.
Oh and then we’ll look at Brawny, Dodd and all the criminals who are running free. They’re no better then Madoff. Worse, IMO
It’s just weird how the world seems to be barring right -to many things to list. Pravda is calling Obama a marxist -nuff said.
PING!!!!
