Her name was Neda, which means “voice” in Farsi. According to numerous online accounts picked up by media outlets worldwide, she was shot in the streets by Iranian state police while protesting today. This is what repression looks (warning: graphic):

I’m not. At least that was not my intention. Way back at the beginning of the thread, I criticized Malkin for juxtaposing a harmless photo of Zero eating an ice cream cone with that of the Neda, as if one was the cause of the other. I pointed out that this bordered on “political porn”, and that is when all heck broke lose.

Not true. To wit:
1. I bathe (actually shower—takes less time).
2. I shave.
3. I don’t keep goats around (my development frowns on those things, anyhow!)
4. I don’t force my wife and daughters to walk around in black bedsheets in public (or private for that matter).
5. I suppose I do face the East from time to time, but not for any particular reason.

Hardly. You don't get the numbers in these protests simply from universities. From some of the videos I've seen, there are three generations of people out there, right down to gray-haired old women. People across the city are chanting from the rooftops at night.
And I'd bet my last dollar that any support the "backcountry" folks have for IaNutJob is the same kind of support Iraqi citizens had for Hussein: support him or suffer.

People who post such ill-informed balderdash in such a contemptuous tone usually don’t want to hear that they are ignorant. They will never believe you, anyway, and just say that you are a fool of the media that you read, and that THEY have the only valid information needed to decide on an opinion.
