Many have claimed the federal government was playing fast and loose with the rules surrounding its takeover of General Motors and the circumstances surrounding the selection of which dealerships would remain open and those that wouldn't. Fox News' Gretchen Carlson came forward with evidence of this through a personal account of dealership closings.
Carlson, a co-host on the Fox News Channel's morning show "Fox & Friends," appeared on Glenn Beck's June 9 program and questioned the logic behind the decision reached by the government and General Motors (GM) to close down a dealership that has been in her family for 90 years.
"I'd like to get a hold of the car czar too," Carlson said. "Never did I think personally that I would need to get a hold of him, but now I do because my parents have owned a General Motors dealership in Anoka, Minn., for 90 years and they were terminated last week and they would like to know why. They would like to know why from the car czar."

It’s too bad for her parents but I’m so sick and tired of this loud mouth airhead talking about herself in almost every segment. She’s so overbearing and constantly interrupts her guests. She’s an airhead drama queen who has no clue what she’s talking about most of the time. I’ll be glad when Fox gets rid of her.
This is a smoldering scandal. They even closed down dealerships owned by sitting Republican congressmen while democrat bigwigs motor blissfully on. If that doesn’t stir these guys up what will?
“The ones that shut down will just go work for/with a buddy. Its been like that for years.”
Oh, well that makes it OK then.
having a daughter working for Fox News probably placed them atop the target list

They’re supposed to interject their lives on the morning segments.
They ALL do it.
Obozo wouldn’t have shutdown the Dealership if it was owned by MUSLIMS, but that Unfortunately was not the case, it was owned by Christians who were Good American Patriots! Our Prayers are with You, Gretchen and Your Family and may Justice finally Win Out!
How old are her parents to have been old enough to OWN a car dealership for 90 years?
Yeah! Don’t you know it’s no biggy when you own your own business to go to be an employee for your ‘buddy’?
it was IN THE FAMILY for 90 years i think is the implication there.
If your “buddy” is still in business?
Come on! Obviously in referring to her Parents , one refers to the grandparents before who were the founders, MAYBE even the Great grandparents.............
Folks can mean parents, grandparents, great grandparents, etc. They are all folks.
One of their competitors was being shut down till a closed door meeting with the maker and government. Now the competitor will remain open.
The American peoples silence on this issue is just deafening.
Is this what they really want?
OK - so it was “in the family” for 90 years. Is that little slip really important?
I was driving through town the other night (Nashville) and realized there are actually 2 GM dealers right across the street from each other. I can only guess which one will be allowed to stay open. The big one which is also a Toyota dealer and has a whole string of various lines of car dealerships. Wouldn’t it make more sense (if one sees any sense to be made in this at all) to let the little guy keep his GM dealership while the other guy has other profitable lines he can sell?
It’s who you know, eh ?
I’m not saying it’s okay. The biggest loss will likely be to the locals. There will have a large commercial piece of property on the market and locals who benefitted (lunch places) will get hit...
83% - wow!
I’d like to dee the data get published in WSJ or IBD so we can cite it. There should be a independent investigation, and prosecution - possibly impeachment, if it goes that high.
