So is Bore going to fire up his jet and buzz on over to pay a call on Kim? Whose money will he use to buy him off with?

Here’s how the deal will go: Bore will get a bunch of lefties to pony up about $50mil to release these so-called journalists and to say that it was all because of Bore’s diplomatic greatness and graciousness, blah blah, etc..

Yup- I should have included that possibility (SNOBama kids letter-writing campaign) in my post#278. The whole world loves each other! Dontcha know?

The blind children may not be leading the blind fools, but they sure voted for them.

It is puzzling, getting 12 years of hard labor but being relatively pampered also. I tend to agree with you, the NK’s realize they will be freed and want good press from two very sympathetic-imaged women.

God help them. Seriously. What an unmitigated horror the North Korean concentration camp system is.

As I understand it, these women entered the country illegally. I wish the USA would take notes over their conviction. Now I'm sure there were charges that were trumped up beyond just entering illegally, but I really can't muster up a tear for someone that doesn't respect the rule of law.

As I explained in post278, in three weeks the whole story will be completely gone. I suspect the OldMedia will not cover this at all- just as they didn’t cover Hussein’s death prisons before the BASH (Battle Against Saddam Hussein) even know they knew ALL about what happened there, and that his wonderful sons had people put in plastic shredders to provide some excitement when celebrating their birthday parties. Don’t want to highlight true atrocities, you know. They would rather talk about the possible impact on polar bears a hundred years from now of burning coal, or taking oil out of ANWR.

Maybe I’m missing the point, but I just can’t get all that worked up about so-called journalists stupid enough to be working for Bore in the first place. Lay down with dogs, you’re gonna get fleas. If they entered the country illegally, oh well. A person would have to be dumber than a bag of hammers to sneak into NK illegally.

“Interestingly, they have been well kept in a foreign diplomat hotel and have been well attended to by the Austrian Embassy. So treatment so far has been unusually benign. Hmmm.”
-—<>-—<>-—<>-—<>-—<>-—

That is another reason, in addition to what I put in #278, to say that people here are overreacting. Don’t put it past lefties to figure out ways to get along with lefties. SNOBama will have the US allied with all those who were US enemies since WW2 by the time he’s done. We should all be happy.

Looks like it’s time for Obama to send a contingent of 60’s type Berkeley hippies sporting tie-dye and birkenstocks, with peace signs, flowers and candles, reeking to high heaven of patchoulli oil and performing a mighty rendition of KUMBAYA to negotiate the release of these two women.
-—<>-—<>-—<>-—<>-—<>-—

Two dozen Berkley types should all go to NK in their birkenstocks and tie-dyes to appeal for peace and love. If that two dozen are arrested and put in concentration camps, so be it. SNOBama can easily call up four dozen more. Then eight dozen more... Just like Ghandi, dontcha know! Peace and love will win out. Just keep sending dozens more peaceniks every week because NK won’t be able to jail them all! Eventually, NK will cry uncle and let them all out, including the reporters!

C’mon SNOBama! Let’s get on that teleprompter and make your first appeal for the kindergarten letter-writers and the Berkley-type peaceniks! We can change the world!

“All we need is love”

“We can do it!”

They were doing a story on women used in the sex trade. I am frankly surprised everyone believes NK on this. People sound like they are happy this has happened. Granted the girls MAY have crossed into NK, but they are still Americans. guess some people have become like leftists in heart. They are pawns and it is a tragedy for them and their families. I know NK is a special hell, and that millions suffer there all the time. That does not mean they deserve this, no matter their political leanings.

I wonder if the NKs will close their camps... you know.. to restore their image to the world.

If only the world would complain about real horror of REAL OPPRESSION instead of the perceived horror of waterboarding to protect American citizens.

The Chinese cameraman refused to go along. The two "journalists" thought they could make a foray and get back to the Chinese side before they were spotted. They greatly underestimated the paranoia of the N Koreans and were arrested in the nuetral zone and their notes of the interviews were used in evidence against them.

I am seeing a pattern here, the woman who was charged with spying on Iran -- why is it these people don't seem to understand that when they leave the U.S. borders, they LEAVE the U.S., things don't operate there as they do here?

Lisa, you can bring up this situation to your son if you want to get under his skin. This picture doug posted is a good start. I also made some comments from #278 on this thread that can get under his skin if you want to be cynical with him. There are many comments in the thread that are serious, but I don’t know that is anything useful to say to him. This is a result of weak “leadership” for the US.

I was wondering about this story. Do you think that possibly they saw something they shouldn’t have seen? Everyone seems to be accepting that NKis telling the truth here, and I am wondering if perhaps they didn’t see some ype of military stuff or maybe NK just was afraid they had. I am also not too sure that they had crossed the border into NK.

They entered a country without it’s permission, in order to obtain information that the government would rather not reveal.

Call it journalism all you want, it’s very possible by international law itself this is espionage.

Very good point.

WTF were they doing trying to get into North Korea? Especially when NK is setting off nuke and launching missiles?

Every once in a while nasty regimes prop up the reputations of their drones in the west by creating a crisis- usually a hostage situation- so their preferred drone “can come to the rescue.”

Very possible here... we’ll know soon.
