SNIPPET: "U.S. Airways flight 4423 was supposed to leave Lynchburg for Charlotte around 2:30 p.m., Airport Director Mark Courtney said. Instead, it was delayed for nearly three hours while Transportation Security Administration workers and local law enforcement made sure it was safe to fly.
Campbell County Sheriffs Office Capt. Kevin Schmitt said a 23-year-old man was overheard on his mobile phone making the comments while he was standing in the airport lobby.
He was overheard by a TSA official making the comment that the plane wouldnt make it to Charlotte that it would fall out of the sky, Schmitt said.
Schmitt said the man broke his phone in half when a TSA worker approached him so authorities would not be able to determine whom he was speaking with."

LOL - breaking your phone in half does not prevent the authorities from identifying who you were talking to. It just takes them a little while longer to obtain the information.
Thank you for answering my unasked question.
I appreciate it taxcontrol.
It is those blasted Amish again.
It might be an effective tactic if you were expecting something to happen in the immediate future. Very unsettling if you’re in charge of letting people get on the plane.
Weird story.
I’m left wondering how a complete lunatic obtains a cellphone; has “friends” who will even talk to him on the telephone; and has the funds and ID to take airplane rides.
Perhaps he was talking to “God” when the TSA overheard him?
I love the comment, “I’m God. I would show you my powers but my back hurts.” I’m glad God and I have something in common!
Oh boy, my hometown in the news. We do have our share of nutburgers in the Hill City, that’s for sure.
