Victims' Relatives Say Justice Dept. Bid To Shield Royal Family From Lawsuit Undermines Fight Against Terror.

Relatives of Sept. 11 victims say they're angry that the Justice Department is supporting the Saudi royal family's bid to be removed from a 9/11 lawsuit.

The families of some victims have accused the royal family of financially backing terror groups that carried out the 2001 attack.

Their complaint alleges that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Saudi High Commission for Relief to Bosnia and Herzegovina (SHC), and four Saudi Princes (acting in both official and personal capacities) made donations to charitable organizations with the knowledge that those organizations were diverting funds to al Qaeda, and that a fifth Saudi prince knowingly provided banking and financial services to Osama bin Laden and al Qaeda.

The Justice Department filed a brief with the U.S. Supreme Court on Friday. It supports the Saudis' argument that the royal family as a sovereign state cannot be sued in a U.S. court.

Gettin’ Paid only goes so far in my book. If these aggrieved families have already been compensated by the Government, they don’t have any standing in my book.

Their anger is justified but here is the key to why the Barry Administration is doing what it is:

“...a sovereign state cannot be sued in a U.S. court”

See this link as an example:

That's odd. They should let the ninth circuit know.

What the heck did they think was going to happen as a muslim took over running the country? So far, 0 has taken every oportunity to side with terrorists whether it be Gauantanamo, bending over to kiss the hand of muzzies, getting rid of the state of Israel, or taken every chance to deride America as best he can to every nation on earth including iran and N. korea.

This has nothing to do with Obama. The Bush administration took the same approach.

Anyone who wants to hold someone responsible for 9/11 should file a lawsuit against the U.S. Justice Department and Jamie Gorelick.

It supports the Saudis' argument that the royal family as a sovereign state cannot be sued in a U.S. court. [emphasis added]

Since when are individuals or a family a sovereign state? They might rule a state, but that's hardly the same thing. Idiotic non-argument, IMO.
