Thinking Outside the Box (Noah's Ark hull design rivals modern ocean tankers!)
AiG ^ | Tim Lovett

--snip--

Noah’s Ark was the focus of a major 1993 scientific study headed by Dr. Seon Hong at the world-class ship research center KRISO, based in Daejeon, South Korea. Dr. Hong’s team compared twelve hulls of different proportions to discover which design was most practical. No hull shape was found to significantly outperform the 4,300-year-old biblical design. In fact, the Ark’s careful balance is easily lost if the proportions are modified, rendering the vessel either unstable, prone to fracture, or dangerously uncomfortable...

Obviously, God DID provide for all that because it was accomplished.

Christians understand that every single detail won’t be spelled out.

As I go out and tend to the dying today for instance, at the end of the day I’d like to believe it was God’s will that allowed me to do so...

enough money to put gas in my car (barely), a car that will hold up (also suspect right now...) but every day these things are provided.

And I feel both blessed and priveleged to carry through!

that doesn’t address the topic at hand, which is the feasibility of the ark. a 450ft long wooden ship requires lots of men and materiel. superhumans and giants don’t explain away the logistics.
i’m not even going to get into the other issues like your vapor cloud and fountains of the deep.
given the biblical dimensions of the ark, you’d need something like 67k sq ft of planking just to cover the hull; add another 30-40k sqft for decking. that’s a lot of wood.
you can claim a miracle happened, but it’s not in the book.

Well, there wasn't a miracle claimed for the building of the ark in the Bible. It was just a lot of work for a long, long time. And he didn't have to do it by himself, either. I'm sure Noah gave quite a boost to the local economy. They were probably still counting their shekels (or whatever they used) and laughing when the hatches were battened down and the storms and earthquakes started.

One of those early Ming 450’ wooden cargo ships would have sufficed for Noah’s purposes. The idea that nobody could build a ship that big out of wood is simply no longer viable; it was just Europeans who couldn’t....

It took Noah and his sons 120 years to build it.

"It took Noah and his sons 120 years to build it."

Well, that would give them time to learn their "craft".

"Not only does this explain why men in and before the Flood era lived such long lives and had "superhuman" abilities (see the Pyramids, for example) ..."

You seem to be implying that the Pyramids came before the Flood.

Is that what you're saying?

v: that’s still over a thousand years after the romans built theirs. the problem is technology available and known at the time of noah.

m: ten men and a hundred years do not equal an army of men and tons of material required for such a vessel. even with the time, men, and material it takes years to accomplish that much.

of the vessels cited as evidence for the possibility of noah’s ark, they were all backed up with the power of large nation-states. what did noah have besides his sons and time?

You look at things so backwardly, you must have retinas for eyelids.
