Another Trick To Silence Conservatives.

Posted on 05/11/2009 11:52:44 AM PDT by Lloyd Marcus

Okay, so Carrie Prejean, Miss California, posed topless. Is this suppose to disqualify her from standing up for traditional marriage? Then, the media came out with a story about her dad being gay. So, what! This is another dirty trick of the liberal left to silence conservatives.

Unfortunately this tactic continues to work. Here is their premise, unless you live a 'perfect' life, you can not stand for principles or distinguish between right and wrong. This is hog wash.

Remember when Bill Bennett authored, “The Book of Virtues”? The media cheered and did cartwheels when they discovered he had a gambling problem. The truth that conservative principles are best for all humanity is not diminished because we fall short. Sadly, conservatives are quick to throw our 'flawed' guys under the bus.

Jesus, said “all have sinned and come short of the glory of God”. The left uses this truth to say, “NO ONE is qualified to pass judgment” or stand up for righteousness. They wish to pursue their sins without guilt or criticism. Fine. But wrong is wrong. So get over it!

I have sinned and continue to sin. Why? Because I am a flawed human being in need of a savior, Jesus Christ. We can NOT allow the left pointing out our weaknesses to shut us up. Edmund Burke said, “All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing”. The liberal left has launched an extremely aggressive campaign to re-shape America. We MUST 'Take Back America” by standing up for and speaking the truth.

Because people fall short, liberals trash the principle. When President Clinton had sex with Monica, the left basically defended adultery. They trashed the archaic principle of faithfulness to one's wife by saying, “Every man in Bill's position would have reacted as he to the advances of a young woman”. Their campaign was so successful, I was shocked to hear a Christian minister parroting their spin.

I strongly support and encourage Ms Prejean to keep standing up for the truth and what is right. Yes, I said, 'right'. Contrary to the rhetoric coming from the left, certain things in life are right or wrong. God Bless!

Posing topless requires a full view in my book.

There’s a new country song out that has the verse “God is great, beer is good and people are crazy.” Good thing to keep in mind with liberals. You gotta love country.

Persecuted for her personal opinion by the hypocritical, self categorized bastions of ‘tolerance’. I guess hating the concept of traditional marriage is a virtue?

There was an underwear ad she posed for with no nudity and then some forged photoshopped “nude” photos.

I agree. The pictures that I’ve seen are ones that she had taken to market herself as an underwear model, in the vein of Victoria’s Secret, or something like that. They are NOT what most thinking folks would call ‘topless’. It’s obvious the homosexual activists are grasping at straws to bring her down for her honest opinion, given only because a question was posed.

Ms Prejean shouldn’t have gotten herself involved in the modeling/Beauty Pagent Industry. It is not suitible for the Christian way of life.
Philippians 4:8 (King James Version)

8Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Yep, I've seen more revealing photos in the Sears catalog.

They are not much more risque than what the girls wear in the swim suit competition. Those gay marriage proponents are sure a prudish bunch...

“The media cheered and did cartwheels when they discovered he had a gambling problem.”

He gambled, but that doesnt mean he had a problem.
The liberal media also assumes that every religious person is a fundamentalist protestant. Bennet as a catholic was within his relgious tenets by gambling within his means.

The left uses this truth to say: “NO ONE is qualified to pass judgment” or stand up for righteousness.

That's because the left continually and purposely confuses the ideas of "passing judgment" and "using your judgment".

You got it right on, there, Lloyd. It’s the whole idea of (objective, absolute) standards that the left can’t stand.

And I’m not sure if the concept evades them, or they’re just being deceitful,

but it doesn’t seem like they can understand the concept that the messenger’s behavior is irrelevant as to whether the standard is valid or not, because the standard is not set by humans.

Using a man’s virtue against himself is how Iago got Othello to murder his beloved. Uriah the Hittite’s virtue is what got him murdered by King David. Christ, beloved by The Father, was ALL virtue. But we were not. He was murdered for our sakes.

That’s the game, that what is right and wrong is based on a standard of human behavior, when it’s not. It is based on an objective morality which God has created not man, therefore cannot be destroyed through any human’s behavior.

It is not suitible for the Christian way of life.

Then neither is politics.
