Limbaugh makes millions for being wrong (While I toil away at 7-11 and opine from Mom's basement!)
The Augusta Chronicle ^ | May 9, 2009 | Nathan Kirby

Posted on 05/09/2009 1:46:53 AM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

Radio talk-show host Rush Limbaugh signed an eight-year, $400 million contract in 2008 with Clear Channel Communications! In terms even I can understand, that's $50 million a year -- not to mention tens of millions more in endless endorsements.

I've just got to ask: Why on God's green Earth does he make so much money? Yes, I realize Limbaugh is the de facto Führer of the Republican Party. Yet, as far as I can tell, he's making well over half-a-billion dollars the next eight years for doing nothing more than always being wrong.

Didn't Limbaugh predict the invasion of Iraq would be smooth sailing? Didn't Limbaugh parrot Bush every time he said, "The fundamentals of the economy are strong" -- all the way up to and over the economic collapse cliff, in September 2008? In January 2009, didn't Limbaugh predict the apocalypse if President Obama's economic plans were passed by the majority-Democrat Congress?

Then, on May 5, didn't Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke, a Republican, predict the economy would be out of recession by fall 2009? Jobless claims are dropping. Retail sales are improving. Thus, the stock market has been positive the past two months.

So, where's this apocalypse we were all dying for?

I'm sorry, but as the rational human being bank-rolling him, I would absolutely have to know that Limbaugh has been right about one, single, teensy-weensy thing in order to have completely justified his $400-million-plus goldmine jackpot.

Jealous? You bet your sweet, sweet apple I am! Hey, I'm wrong all the time, too. Quick -- someone write me a check for $400 million and I'll be as wrong as you want for as long as you want. Heck, I'll even go one better. I'll be wrong and over the moon to get paid a measly 1 percent of that amount for my magnificently selfless services.

“Let me say that I have NEVER in my long life voted Democratic in a national election.”

What the hell is Democratic? Are you saying you never voted? Anyone who votes is being “democratic”. The noun is Democrat, yet DUers/KOS bed wetters/Ignoramuses in general love the word democratic when describing their authoritarian Party. Slip of the digits perhaps while thinking you are "stealthy"?

One of the few substantive rebuttals on the thread. Thank you.

How pathetic. Really. Envious sap exposes himself in public because he is a loser? I can't believe we're letting dolts like this dominate the goobermint as well as the media.

Everything this guy thinks he knows is wrong.

When somebody is "wired" wrong, he orshe won't know when he's wrong.

What a total buffoon! Why did he consider that the reason why he is working at a 711 is because of the Obama economy? What a dope!

Well .. Nathan better not look now, but “O” has chosen to REINSTATE THE MILITARY TRIBUNALS .. KEEP THE WIRE TAPPING IN PLACE (although the dems are doing MORE snooping than what took place under the repub admin), and “O” also is keeping the same mild restrictions on the polar bears.

What on earth will Nathan do when he finds this info out ..??

ROTFLOL .. is what I’ll be doing.

"I could say here that $400M over eight years would be over a half a billion dollars.."

You could also say "well" over half a billion dollars...but you're obviously too compassionate.

Compassionate; I love the word compassion...my American Heritage Dictionary defines it as " Deep awareness of the suffering of another coupled with the wish to relieve it.

I have two questions:
1. How "deep" can awareness be?
2. When was the last time any of you "wished" something into being.

I certainly hope you aren’t mouthing off to me. It sure sounds like you are. If you are protecting Democrats for being stupid - I guess that’s your version of being compassionate. I particularly like the “any of you wished something......”

Conservatives have accomplish a helluva lot more lasting good deeds than Democrats and their “I feel your pain” I’ll give you a crapload of money and it’ll be all better.....Democrats have pumped trillions of dollars into the war on poverty and the pov’s are worse off than before....

Can I criticize him or her without being threatened with arrest; without brutality; without having an FBI van pull up outside my house;

Did any of that happen? I didn't think so.

...without being called unpatriotic, a traitor or a commie worm?

Well, on those points...NO!

You are unpatriotic, a traitor or a commie worm.

1. Does the word “paragraph” mean anything to you?

2. You're an idiot.

3. Did I mention that you're an idiot?

4. Medication, which you apparently forgot to take today, is not the same as Kool Aid, which you apparently drink by the gallon.

5. Please tell us you were just kidding and you forgot the /sarc tag.

6. If you weren't kidding, WTF are you talking about? Having trouble recognizing a Marxist when you see one?
Karl Marx = Marxist, Barrack Hussein Obama = Marxist.

No not at all, I'm totally in agreement with you. The whiner in the article didn't seem to know the difference between 400 Million and half a Billion and it was clear to me that you do but chose not to shove it down his pie hole.

This lead me to think of the political use of the word "compassionate" and how pathetic it is when considering the actual definition.

Thus I asked the rethorical question about "wishing", sorry I wasn't clear.

Obama seems to me to be one of the few people actually concerned about the country in a non-partisan manner.

It's been almost FIVE years since you said anything on this site. THIS is what you choose to come out of your cocoon to say?

Go back in hibernation.

This guy is AT LEAST 32 YEARS OLD and he still lives with his mother. He has an entry-type job by working at a 7-11.

Just curious, what was Limbaugh doing at age 32?

FWIW, this person could be more than 32. He says that he was a toddler in ‘77. What this guy is, is a LOSER.
