From the Article: "Our friends at The Patriot Depot just received a call from Rosemarie in Ball, Louisiana alerting Patriot Depot that her brother-in-law was stopped by small town Louisiana police and detained by the roadside for half an hour. A background check was conducted to determine whether he was a member of an "extremist" group. Why? Her brother-in-law (name not disclosed for privacy) had purchased and displayed a conservative "Don't Tread on Me" bumper sticker on his car.
The bumper sticker is based on the famous flag designed by American Revolution era general and statesman Christopher Gadsden. The yellow flag featured a coiled diamondback rattlesnake ready to strike, with the slogan "Don't Tread on Me!" underneath it. ..."

I used to get pulled over for driving a crappy vehicle to work for my 3am shift. I don’t know what they were looking for but I guess I was really suspicious.
Well, as soon as you see one of these "smart, respectful" LEOs let me know since every single one I have run into over the years was a fascist bully with a badge.
Well, I can name one off the very top of my head — Sheriff Bill Masters in Colorado (not sure if he’s still serving, last I spoke with him was about 7 years ago). And, I’ve known several others personally during my life — ones I’ve known as friends.
Several I had gotten to know as “regular customers” years ago. You can pretty much tell which people are those with “attitude” and too much testosterone, but then that’s true of the “civilian” regulars I came into contact with as well during my job as a waitress in a restaurant/neighborhood bar... There are good and bad in EVERY group you could place humans into.
I don’t doubt that there are many out there with an attitude, that’s for sure (ran into a few myself over the years). However, I KNOW there are “good cops” out there as well.
I will say the LEOs I’ve gotten to know pretty well, were for the most part “higher-ups” (Sheriffs, Captains, Detectives) and that sort.
I also got to know a great many LEOs, and other various legal and justice support folks back in Colorado, and in my experience they went far out of their way to help myself and my family through a horrendous ordeal (being involved on the “victim” side of a couple crimes will also change some opinions if you’re lucky enough to be served by COMPETENT people within the Law Enforcement and Justice System).
I would just caution thinking that all members of a chosen profession are bad isn’t a good idea, just as I would caution that thinking all members of a chosen profession were good...
Nay, Louisiana officers have started using the Missouri Highway Patrol training guidelines.
North Dakota. Come to think of it, I’m pretty sure one was a genuine Obamite. Part of the trailer pigtail was hanging down from the connector...
“and detained by the roadside for half an hour. A background check was conducted to determine whether he was a member of an “extremist” group.”
Curious stmt that...what sort of background check would produce this information? OK, if he had prior arrest and/or outstanding warrants that might be one. Anything else? I would think most ‘extremists’ have no record and those who do may or may not have one that would peg them as such. Are they now keeping a database of people they BELIEVE to be extremists?
I have a Palin/Nugent 2012 bumper stick created by a fellow Freeper (forive me as I forget who), but I have gotten so many compliments on it. I’m shocked, actually. It’s like people are afraid to say something until they know someone else feels the same way.
I was at the gas station last weekend and a kindly black gentleman who alway waits on me in the store there was walking outside for his break and he said, “Palin Nugent! I truely love that!”
I’m always afriad someone is going to ram me from behind, but I don’t really care. The bumper sticker ain’t going anywhere.
Yeah I’m a bit of a skeptic too, but if you’ve ever been to LA...they’ll look for ANY excuse to pull ANYONE over. Often to illegally search your vehicle and possibly confiscate it. They’re well known for this...
Jack, not the ensign. front of boat, not back.
I bought several small Gadsden flags from an enterprising vendor at our tea party. There were many large flags - at least 24x36 if not larger. I have to get the larger one and hang it from my deck. I live in a VERY conservative part of town/neighborhood, but I still wonder how long it would take to here from the HOA.
In our neighborhood there was only one Obama yard sign last fall among a myriad of mccain/Palin signs. I have to give the homeowner credit for having guts.
It seems to be just the opposite here in NE TX. I saw very few McCain stickers last year. Now I am seeing some like ‘You keep the Change, I’ll keep my guns’.
I love Moon - I can only get that channel when I am in my car, tho.
“One cannot help but conclude that the administration may, indeed, be deliberately trying to provoke premature direct action.”
In another discussion on another forum a memo from Abe Lincoln to one of his cabinet ministers admitted that the firing on Fort Sumter was deliberately provoked by an attempt to resupply the garrison there. In short, the administration actually started the war by goading the South Carolina Militia into bombarding the fort.
This administration isn’t above using the same tactics.
PING FOR LATER
