Unlike Romney's "National Council for a New America," Free Republic is a conservative site!

I'm going to try one more time to explain what FR is all about.

Free Republic is a conservative site. That does not necessarily mean it is a Republican site. In fact there may be many Republicans we don't support and some Republican issues we cannot agree with.

I'll throw in Arlen Specter as a prime example of a Republican we cannot support. Should be obvious to all why not. Should also be just as obvious to all that we cannot support Olympia Snowe, Susan Collins, John McCain and his lap dog Lindsay Graham, Rudy Giuliani, Mitt Romney, et al.

Some of the issues we cannot support as conservatives even though sometimes initiated by so-called Republicans include TARP, or any kind of government bailout of private enterprise, federal intrusion into free markets, federalized education systems, government provided or controlled health care systems, abortion, gay marriage, amnesty, global warming, gun control, etc.

I guess there is more than one definition of conservatism floating around out there, and this won't be text book, but the one we use involves defending, preserving and protecting our constitution, our unalienable rights, our traditional family values, our American heritage, our nation, our borders and our sovereignty.

We aggressively defend our rights to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness!

We aggressively defend our rights to freedom of religion, freedom of speech, freedom of assembly, freedom to keep and bear arms, right to due process, right to equality under the law, right to be governed under the rule of law, right to constitutionally limited government, right to corruption free government, right to self-government and our private property rights, etc.

We also aggressively defend our right to state and local government for all issues not expressly delegated to the central government by the constitution.

We aggressively defend our rights to free markets and our rights to live our lives free of government intrusion, interference, coercion, force, or abuse of any kind.

We aggressively defend our rights to national sovereignty, state sovereignty and individual sovereignty!

And this definition also includes aggressively fighting against all enemies foreign and domestic who may try to deprive us of our rights or sovereignty. This would obviously include all foreign enemies, but also we defend against RINOS, Democrats, liberals, socialists, Marxists, communists, militant feminists or homosexualists, radical environmentalists, etc, etc, etc.

And we expect our elected representatives to also aggressively defend our rights and fight against all enemies foreign and domestic. We do not elect people and send them to DC or our state capitals, etc, to reach across the aisles or to be bipartisan or to negotiate or compromise away our rights. If you're not going to aggressively fight for us, and for our rights, STAY OUT!!

We bow to no king but God!

Our God-given unalienable rights are NOT negotiable!

Do NOT Tread on US!

Thank you very much!

It wasn't 3/4 the posters but 3/4 the total posts! Posted by the paid Romney operatives.

LOL!

These are also the views of the core Free Republic membership. I recently attended the Free Republic Florida chapter meeting and found them to be fine people, solid conservatives, and fun to be with.

That’s possible. Romney’s supporters are a very vocal group.

I respect your opinion and it is your site. I will not let the door hit me on my way out. There should be room for A MINUTE amount of tolerance. I am 58, voted for Nixon in 72 and straight on from there. I don’t agree with anything much McCain or his daughter have to say. Duncan Hunter has as much chance becoming president as I do. You would be HYPOCRITICAL now for banging anyone else for freedom of speech, since you are hell bent on not letting me have mine without being attacked.
You might want to monitor your pittbull and sex threads.
If you and yours want a party so pure, you will end up being smaller than the green party.

Before 2004, it WAS "Barack who?" He was just another nobody from Illinois with an extremely light resume till the DNC media made him into their "goldenboy".

Those who are looking to push a media groomed lapdog in order to get the nomination and election are the same ones who keep falling for a lie and expecting different results.

The primaries are to get the BEST CONSERVATIVE possible. Once that is accomplished, the LIEberals will be handily defeated in the general election...just ask Mondale.

“And what about these open primaries, the Demonrats used them to pour McLame down our throats. That needs to end.”

Amen, close the primaries. All of them.

Jim you are entitled to what you believe and I respect your site and said before I would not violate pushing Romney in your face for president that would be inappropiate to do!

Would I defend his Character and how he conducted and lived his personal life yes!

The bottem line there are many young rising stars who are true blue and I am looking forward to them.

But to allow folks to make reference to Mormons as morons because it is needed fodder now for the cause makes me also mad, but I am not going to get foul mouth about it!

Two wrong don’t make a right!

But how does being foul mouth going to improve the situation?

Do you really think that good can come from foul words?

Does not this nation needs all the prayers it can get to get out of this mess, this nation needs to be lifted up our thoughs need to be elevated, do you think using gutteral talk is going to bring down the powers of Heaven!

What is this "freedom of speech" that you seem to think Jim is depriving ANYONE of?

We’re talking about two different time frames. The primaries are absolutely the right time to boost folks like Palin and Jindal and Hunter and voice utter disapproval of Romney, McCain (though unlikely to run again due to age), Giulani, etc. However a GOP compromise ticket could happen afterward in spite of that. FR rebels, and if it actually has clout, then what. We get a righty spoiler, and Obama sails back in (unless there is also a lefty spoiler to counterbalance it, then we get the RINO).

He was more conservative then. Indeed as I think back it really only has been his bail out attempt and a few other issues such as immigration that have been the problem.

Even with that his Gun stance has not changed, his stance on gay rights has not changed, his position on abortion has not changed. He is not a proponent of socialized medicine much less a creator of such a plan.

This has been covered here before

Care to keep going?

I respectfully submit that we collectively had better start getting behind some candidates local, state, and Federal to support for the next election. Until we back successful candidates we will be stuck with Republicans.

Good post. Look what happens when it is tweaked a bit.

Romney's supporters use obfuscation, misdirection, accusations of wrong doing (if you don't like him, you don't like Mormons; you're jealous; you aren't giving him a fair chance 'cause he's changed, etc.) because they can't admit that he's a complete failure as a Conservative.

Zero's supporters use obfuscation, misdirection, accusations of wrong doing (if you don't like him, you don't like Blacks; you're jealous; you aren't giving him a fair chance 'cause he's about change, etc.) because they can't admit that he's a complete failure as a statesman.

You really should show a little more discretion in choosing whom you will lecture. Especially when YOU of all people, make remarks like

"There are many things one can say but just to throw something out for meanness show a very unkind soul!

Fight for liberty and freedom what for just to be mean and nasty?
