If you had any doubt that Miss California, Carrie Prejean, lost the crown, if indeed she ever had a chance to win it, with her answer to Perez Hilton's question about states legalizing gay marriage, then read fellow judge Alicia Jacobs' account of her voting. After hearing the answer, Jacobs, a former Miss Nevada USA, writes on her blog, "if I could have made her 51st runner-up, I would have." In a blog item titled "Pretty is as pretty does," Jacobs offers a behind-the-scenes account of the judges and pageant officials involved. Included is Jacobs' account of her reaction as she heard the answer:
"As she continued to speak, I saw the crown move further & further away from her. When she finished, she looked strangely proud for a moment. Personally, I was STUNNED on several levels. First, how could this young woman NOT know her audience and judges? Let's not forget that the person asking the question is an openly gay man, at least 2 people on the judges panel are openly gay. Another judge has a sister in a gay marriage. Her very own state pageant director, KEITH LEWIS is an openly gay man who has been a very generous benefactor of hers...in many ways. (2 ways in particular....if you get my drift??) Did I mention I was STUNNED?"
I don't actually get Jacobs' drift about the "2 ways," but I am sure someone hipper will explain that to me. As for Carrie Prejean, she will be as remembered as well as former Miss Oklahoma Anita Bryant.
Oh, wait, Anita Bryant is still alive. Well, I admit I had to look that up, and my guess is that most of you would too!

She needs to sue on the basis of religious discrimination. I hope she does and I hope she wins.
I am waiting on Trump to release a STRONG statement against what happened. If he does not react, he will lose all remaining credibility he has in my black book.
I find it shocking that the judges were so shocked. The majority (though a shrinking majority) of Americans oppose same sex marriage, including the liberal messiah, Barack Hussein Obama (officially anyway).
I could understand them not liking her answer, but how could they be “shocked” that someone would express the mainstream, majority opinion. Also, she qualified her statement (something I didn’t like) with that nonsense about people having the right to choose same sex or “opposite” marriage. If you take her entire statement in context, all she really said was she didn’t believe same sex marriage was right for her or her family (a capital crime and mortal sin, worthy of a fatwa in the eyes of radical Homosexualism.)
Place the blame squarely on who allowed a bunch of fags and fag hags to serve as judges, Donald Trump.
Interesting that no one really criticizing the judge for injecting politics—just sort of an afterthought that it was unfortunate. The unfortunate thing is that political dissent in this country is dead and everything is now politicized—I bet I can’t find a kid’s lunch box that hasn’t been put thru a “PC thot meter”
This just up:
‘God was testing my faith,’ says Miss California...

God was testing my character and faith. I’m glad I stayed true to myself,’ she told Fox News today.
Very well said!
Barack Obama was asked whether he supported gay marriage when he was running for President. Barack Obama said no, and I agree with Barack Obama.
Perfect!
sw
I thought so too.
First off, isn’t it “Render UNTO Caesar what is Caesar’s”?
Secondly, what the heck did that quote ever have to do with a referendum of any sort? I thought that was more about taxation and serfdom.
Please correct me if I am wrong.
You are correct. That’s why I cracked up at this incredible stretch of logic by Beckel.
“That might have caused a short circuit in the judges brains.”
Yes, it probably would have, and it would have been so delicious to see this. Oh well, the opportunity is not lost forever. People can still use this tactic with liberals in other situations, because Obama has taken more than one position on several things. So I can say to a liberal: “Barack Obama said we should cut government spending, and I agree with him.” Or “Barack Obama said he favors nuclear power as one component of our overall energy mix, and I agree with him.” There is so much fun to be had!!!
If she stated a position that was pro gun rights, pro Iraq war, anti government run health care, anti-illegal immigration, or pro death penalty she would undoubtedly have also been denied the crown.
If she expressed the believe that global warming was a scam, they would have cut off her leg.
Liberals are fascists, and if you disagree with them, they will do everything in their power to ruin you.
The girl gets three cheers from me, and I couldn’t care less about what the judges think.
Among others. Beckel wants us to believe that the so-called “separation of church and state” which doesn’t exist means NO mention of religion in politics. Funny how the Founding Fathers were basing the very government we now have on Judeo-Christian ethics. Silly liberals. History confuses them so badly.
There is a huge difference between "rejecting" a person and rejecting an opinion, belief, or lifestyle of the person or persons, regardless of an association, kinship - or not - with them.
This woman certainly showed more tolerance, and class, in her answer than the judge showed in his response to her answer.
When history doesn’t fit your agenda, lie about it.
1 Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the LORD God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?”
2 The woman said to the serpent, “We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, 3 but God did say, ‘You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.’ “
4 “You will not surely die,” the serpent said to the woman.
