I'm hoping to be able to ascertain an overall national figure of attendance at the tea parties today by asking Freepers to post their crowd estimates on this thread.
I'm also asking that the thread be kept to just the numbers, no photos, etc., but if you want to link back to photos in your crowd estimate that's fine.
Please give the location and number of participants.
I'll go first:
Melbourne, FL - 1000.
Tucson, AZ reporting 2500 - 3000.
From steveegg via Twitter
steveeggIn Appleton for #teaparty part 2. Somewhere around 1,000 here.
There were a lot more people to the north and south of the stage that my pictures did not show. I might revise my numbers down to 2500 because of the extra space taken up with umbrellas and signs, but no further than that.

Pfft. Media. There were well over 1000 people and probably more like 3000 in attendance. I was there.
Clarksburg, WV - VA Park from 12:00 - 1:00. Approximately 300 people. Since it was cold and raining, I was surprised to see that many people (affectionately known as right wing extremists or homeland security threats by the current administration) in one place. The children present were particularly rabble rousing. Actually, it was a very peaceful event. Since our state motto is “mountaineers are always free,” the general theme was loss of individual freedom as a result of the federal government’s excessive spending and power grab and the unpleasant surprises resulting from Congressional failure to actually read bills before voting. The event was organized by a young couple with a baby and toddler in tow. More rallies are being planned for June and July.
50-75 Willoughby, Oh 30-50 Eastlake Oh (hard to track as they come and went over the 2 hours
Bangor Maine paper states 300 real count around 350 -450 we marched so there were people at both ends.
Fort Payne Alabama... 200+
Huge for a small town of less than 13k at midday (when most folks work).
It could very well have been, I was in the back and couldn’t see very well.
I could not get close to the steps due to the crowd. I got there about Noon. All the cops were smiling, they had easy duty.
Sacramento, CA; 10-15K
0 arrests - one officer joked, “It’s kinda boring”
however, the entire legislature was under ‘house arrest’ as Cavuto called for a blockade of the capitol entrances, so legislators and staff were locked inside and unable to leave the building even for lunch. Best of all, Queen Pelosi herself was inside at some special session and couldn’t leave either! hehehe
I was there too. I’d say 350 - 400 hundred and 150 signs. I was wearing the Phillies rain poncho.
Nashville - 10,000
I had some friends who invited me to join them, otherwise I wouldn’t have made the steps. They had been there since about 9 or 10 am.
I was there...Channel 4 just estimated 3-5 thousand.
Excellent. Great day. I was most impressed by how many young people were there. Not just to hang, but with signs and costumes.
Correction - closer to 2000
Cottonwood, Arizona 300 or more one hour rally at Noon
Indianapolis:
Around 1,000 on a COLD and blustery afternoon. Good speakers, LOTS of good signs!
5 Code Pinkos, 2 Obamatrons
Rural Ohio Dairy Hut: 50 people.
Think about that and all the small towns everywhere that did this today, rain or shine.
