Q Sonja Sagmeister from a little country, Austria, from Austrian Television. Mr. President, you said you came here to learn and to listen. So a quite personal question -- what did you learn from your personal talk with the European leaders? And did this change in a certain way your views on Europe and its politics?
PRESIDENT OBAMA: It's an interesting question. I had already formed relationships with many of them. ... There's a lot of -- I don't know what the term is in Austrian -- wheeling and dealing -- and, you know, people are pursuing their interests, and everybody has their own particular issues and their own particular politics.

Hey Obama ! In austrian “your a dumbass” means your “still a dumbass” in english !
I am soooo sick of this punks polidiots posers and his handlers trying to pass off this sock monkey as a precedent !
Doom on his anti americanism !
Thank you for the reply, I greatly appreciate it...
I really wish I had learned more about my relatives and their native language when my Mother was alive (we probably all feel that way though about some things when we lose a loved one)
I was only 24 when she passed away, and I had 3 young children, and she lived out-of-state, so time seemed to really slip away. Too many questions unasked...). I know her father came to the US before WWI and my Mom was born in 1939. I kind of got the feeling that with the outbreak of WWII her parents rarely spoke German except when with friends... I can definitely understand why they would make that choice.
You’d figure little Hitler would know something about German, eh?
Maybe he should have asked the Queen to explain The Sound of Music to him since she loves showtunes so much.
Ahh, He’s a goof-butt, but he’s our little goof-butt.
Very neat! Thank you so much. I’m pretty sure what she said was “Guten Abend”. With an accent and sliding the words together almost, I can see how that could sound like “Gutten Noggin” to me!
I LOVE Brahm’s Lullaby. I actually sang a few songs in German during my High School voice lessons... Let me tell you — that’s not so easy for someone who speaks English! LOL
My favorite German song to sing is Mozart’s Wiegenlied (”Schlafe mein Prinzchen”).
Thanks again for all the information you’ve shared with me. Through this conversation I’ve remembered a lot of things about my Mom, and that’s always really nice... :)
Love your post! Especially the “polidiots”! I’m going to have to remember that one... :)
Add “Presstitutes” to that wordsmithing file as well friend.....:o)
Why, thanks. I hope it sticks. Every time I see Obama on TV(which isn’t often, since I avoid it like the plague), I immediately think “President Clueless”. It suits him perfectly.
" I don't know what the term is in Austrian,"If Bush had ever said anything this stupid, it would have led the news.
Hmmmm...does May 23, 2006 ...George W. Bush... Greek and Grecian...jog any memory cord??
It's all the headlines addressed for days in the time period.
Hypocrisy, double standards, biased, selective revisionist memories, enablers/apologists...we should all be used to these reporting manipulations by now.
Oh wait ... then there's the nuclear disarm tact - while ignoring that every ME nation wants all of a sudden to get nuclear power, NK, Iran, proceed without effective sanction, we should just dump ours. NK went 8 years fooling x42 - uhbama will be even less a challenge. ARRRRRRRGH! :-(
As far as Obama's ignorance, he is appearing more like an incompetent communist. I can't say those behind the throne are but maybe, just maybe they are victims of their own role in destroying the educational system.
Yep, that’s one of my favorites as well! :)
The other one I picked up the other day for Obama:
“The Fresh Prince of Bill Ayers”! ROFL
Thanks! I will definitely try that tonight. :)
Keeper indeed !
The fresh prince of Bill Ayers is just funny and sad all at the same time !
thanks !
Glad to help! :)
wow! I want some of those! (they wont do any good in Tokyo, but just for some friends back in native Kentucky)... ;-)
Don’t they speak Australian in Austria?
That would be great! I’m so glad you like it. Thank you!
[Be sure to tell your friends, too! LOL I’m going to be re-designing some of my election products over the next few days to remove the McCain/Palin ‘08 wording as well...]
