President Barack Obama said he believes the global financial system remains at risk of implosion with the failure of Citigroup or AIG, touching off “an even more destructive recession and potentially depression.”
His remarks came in a “60 Minutes” interview in which he was pressed by an incredulous Steve Kroft for laughing and chuckling several times while discussing the perilous state of the world’s economy.
“You're sitting here. And you're— you are laughing. You are laughing about some of these problems. Are people going to look at this and say, "I mean, he's sitting there just making jokes about money—” How do you deal with— I mean: explain. . .” Kroft asks at one point.
“Are you punch drunk?” Kroft says.
“No, no. There's gotta be a little gallows humor to get you through the day,” Obama says, with a laugh.

At least we could limp to the end of the term without active destruction of the country. Biden is a buffoon, but I think he would be miles better than this evil man. And Jill Biden would be a far better First Lady than Michelle.

His use of the street term for those with hydrocephalus in the same interview where he joked about those with Down Syndrome was appalling.
And should have been equally condemned.
Combined with tonight’s freakish 60 Minute appearance, every American should be alarmed at Obama’s obvious mental decompensation.
That's practically what he's been doing. He has not allowed a single real press conference since he came into office. He treats the press corps like a bunch of pests. He has repeatedly excluded them from important events. He just skipped the annual dinner this weekend. And he hasn't even invited them for cocktails or thrown them an ord'oeuvre, the way clinton did. He has weekly parties, and the media are not welcome. It just goes on and on.
You have it exactly right, in my opinion. I've posted much the same thing several times here on FR, only in my own words. I've put it this way: Obama is someone who enjoys getting a job more than he does actually doing a job. His whole resume speaks to this trait in him.

Hubby and I had dinner with our long time friends a few weeks ago and my friend remarked at how much she admired him for coming from nothing and accomplishing so much.
They haven't been willing to say they regret their vote (they are still in the 'blame Bush game') but they are starting to realize they made some foolish decisions and now they don't see anything good in their future. At least, I didn't say...'I told you so'!!

Anybody remember all the crap talk about Palin not being qualified? Well, what we are seeing is Obama melting under the pressure because his handlers don’t know what to do. This was Obama off the teleprompter, his wondrous intellectualism on display for all to see.
