Ammo flying off store shelves

TAMPA - After President Barack Obama won the election, people flooded gun stores because of speculation that he may limit gun ownership or raise taxes on them. Even though neither has happened, the amount of people wanting to get their hands on a gun hasn't gone down. Scott Patrick is the General Manager of the Shoot Straight gun range in Tampa. He says the number of people coming into his store is still going up. "For whatever reason, whether it's the economy or crime, people don't feel safe," he said. Patrick is having serious trouble keeping all kinds of fire arms in stock, even holsters are often backordered. However, he says ammunition is what is really flying off store shelves. Ammo that sells for personal protection is as good as gold these days, and it's costing 30 to 40 percent more than it used to.

To lear to use the gun a recoil pad will help or eliminate the bruising.

True, and really, if that situation ever should occur, a little bruising will be the last thing on your minds.

One thing nice about a shot gut too is you don't need a whole lot of practice to be good with it, unlike a hand gun or rifle.

Is our government funding ACORN?

Oh yeah. 6.5 Billion in the stimulus package, in addition to the funding they were already getting. Hillary started her law career getting government grants to fund organizations to sue the government. Most of the left is funded by our tax dollars.

Yes, I am a shooter since 5 years old. Been shooting for 48 years so far and love to shoot.

I enjoy .22LR, .308WIN, .22 Hornet, .45LC, .410, 20gauge,
.44mag, .454 Casull, .22WinMag .458WinMag and .357Mag at this time.

Heck, I’d get up and start shooting at 4:30AM every day if it would’nt get me in trouble with the neighbors. I don’t blame them because even I get ticked when neigbors are out practicing before and after hours.

Photographs of their activities reveals who they are.

If you are feeling brave, visit their web site, acorn.org.

It's shocking

I agree it is reparations without use of the term. However, this groups actions in seizing houses shows them as a criminal organization. How have local governments been handling the removal of ACORN’s member of appropriated housing? Ordinarily the local sheriff goes out and removes squatters.

Typically, first term presidents wait at least a year before going on crusades against popular rights issues.

Yes, I believe the power of the office is overrated.

I have an uncle in his 80's that is a bit of a gun nut.

He has said many times that he never lost money on a gun he sold.

Over the years I would guess he has not sold more than 6 firearms.

Yet when he starts to talk about each of them, his remarks always include "Looking back I wish I had not sold it".

Let me be the first to thank you for not buying any guns and ammunition.

Your statement: "Most of the left is funded by our tax dollars. "

Response: That I'm aware of. Back in the 1970's congress first voted that the ACLU could be awarded fees when they win lawsuits. Many judges are ACLU "graduates."

Yes, I agree with Celente on that as well.

This year it should be limited to inner city areas and sporadic.

Next year and beyond some of our cities may look like Calcutta’s...probable.

My point is to wait until the commercial real estate collapse has come to full effect and we will be able to buy more material at lower prices as bankruptcies accelerate.

Try not to fall into the grip of fear and the rush to hoard at this time unles it is for a quick selloff in a month or two.

I agree, the use of a shotgun is almost point and shoot.

There is another inexplicable remark.

I don’t even drink coffee, pop, alcohol, refined sugar, coco, etc.

I eat all my meat and fish raw...as well as everything else.

No heat...except in the bore.

If you want to take drugs, there appears to be plenty down in Mexico for you.

“America is a big 14 trillion dollar per year economy “

Was a 14 trillion dollar economy.

Was.

I don’t think this discussion is about hunting.

Very perceptive. The 2nd Amendment isn't about hunting either.

A 12 Gauge 00 patter is 3.5 inches at 5 yards. Less than 4 inches at 7 yards. At household ranges you still need to aim.

Managing recoil and hitting the target require just as much training with a shotgun as with a rifle. Don’t just buy one and sit it in the closet.
