New Hampshire fired the first shot. Although 7 other states have similar pending resolutions and bills, Oklahoma is the first to actually pass one. Another 27 states are expected to make similar moves in the coming months. That’ll leave the country split 71-29.

Now, before you get too excited, bear in mind that all of this was likely Obama’s goal. Boiled down, all of these state measures are threats of secession. Recall, if you will, Obama’s obsession to be the 21st Century Abraham Lincoln, and his ominous calls to recreate and rebuild America. Who was Lincoln? Why, he was the man who “preserved” the Union by way of implementing military force against states that had seceded. Lincoln knew full well that he would not be preserving the Union, but that he would be conquering sovereign nations, and that he would then have to destroy their cultures and ideologies, remaking both in the image of the North’s. And that is precisely what happened in the aftermath of Lincoln’s war of aggression. He didn’t preserve the Union, he changed it forever and handed unprecedented powers to the Federal Government.

Okay, so now I’m going to run with a theory.

We’ll send them welfare layabouts seeing as they like to help and use tax money.

I’ll give their liberal utopia not even 10 years before they’re screwed with debt and crime.

In that time we will pass a law which bans those idiots from moving here and passing their agenda.

The constitution allows the states to call a constitutional convention any time they like. The sole purpose in this case would be for:

Bad idea. Once a ConCon is in session there is no way to limit what they do. Travis's last installment on Enemies Foreign and Domestic has a very believable scenario where a ConCon, started by freedom lovers is hijacked by Obamunists and used to destroy the Republic and replace it was a Chavezista Redistributionist Welfare State. (Not that our existing Consitution is slowing Teleprompter Boy down too much.)

Remember, it's voluntary. They already took the money from your paycheck; for most people a 1040 is just asking for a refund of over-drawn payments. If you don't file a return, you're probably just giving the feds even more money than if you did file. If you do owe money, they still have plenty to come after you to get their pound of flesh.

Translation: don't go there, it's stupid. There are better ways to say "no".

Democracies have a 200 year shelf life.

The original 13 states may have passed their 200-year "best before" dates, but that leaves a lot more that are still feeling pretty good about being in a constitutional republic.

You are absolutely right. Where would 0bama get soldiers to enforce his fiats? I have to believe that the vast majority of the armed forces would never turn on their fellow Americans. If all 0bama can round up for his secret police are ACORN community organizers, that fight would last less than 5 minutes.

If that is all what the Kenyan Man-Child has as troops, I could empty all the bars of middle aged patrons in Pittsburgh, arm them with M1 Garands and shotguns and the fire fight wouldn't last 3 minutes.

The most likely scenario if things worsen is a military coup, a rule by martial law for a while, and a leader who wants to restore Constitutional law and will eventually step down or stand for election, not unlike George Washington. He will be the second Father of our Country. The bulk of the upper echelon officer corps are men of honor, not power grabbers – those are the politicians.

I've posted this before but I would do it this way if there was a military coup. First after establishing control with the military, I would form "MilGov" (with apologies to the role playing game, "Twilight: 2000" for having a faction with the same name) that would consist the Joint Chiefs calling all the shots. They would clean out the Executive branch from the President on down and all of Congress. The head of the Joint Chiefs would be acting President and the second in line, VP. The States will be left on their own as per Constitutional rules, they would be overruled only if their intentions would violate the Constitution.

Then a "Truth Commission" will be established and lawmakers and the former executive branch will be investigated and if there is any treason found, they will be brought up on charges in a Nuremburg style court system. If innocent, there will be no punishment but they cannot serve in and governmental capacity anymore, this ban will be for life but they will be able to get their retirement. If there is a presumption of guilt, there will be a fair trial. If found innocent, they will receive the same thing as their innocent colleages above, if guilty, jail time, up to life in jail.

During the above process and onward, there will be a purge of all political correctness in schools and the like and the education will be turned over as a local matter with the curriculum based on making one responsible for their actions, learning a vocation and learning of our history and the Constitution. I would strongly consider bring back things like the "New England Primer" and "McGuffy's Reader."

Then after some time, maybe 2012, more like 2016 or 2020, new elections will be called for a new Congress and Executive branch. There will also be another part of the government too, some sort of body that would determine how well our officials stick to the Constitution, if one strays, then either impeachment and removal proceedings will begin or another election called with new people. No more Tsars. Then after the elections, the new executive branch and Congress will take over and MilGov will generally "terminate but stay resident" and the Joint Chiefs go back to their original role.

Ah, another John Titor reader. IIRC, Titor said the President in 2005was actually concerned for the good of the nation but the one coming in 2009 is just out for his own power. In that respect, he is on schedule but as you pointed out, the rest of it seems to be 4 or 5 years off.
