TO AFFIRM SOUTH CAROLINA'S SOVEREIGNTY UNDER THE TENTH AMENDMENT TO THE UNITED STATES CONSTITUTION OVER ALL POWERS NOT ENUMERATED AND GRANTED TO THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT BY THE UNITED STATES CONSTITUTION.

I’d take a WWII vet in a wheelchair over a dozen people from the UN.
I am not sure what type of problem you see with South Carolina receiving federally mandated funds.
But your assertion about viability is nothing more than an accusation. Viability has to do with spending, not the contributions of the Federal government. And SC spending appears to be under control.
You can continue to grouse on about the Founding Fathers. You are offering your opinion, and not fact. Here is specifically what was said:
“Each State, in ratifying the Constitution, is considered as a sovereign body, independent of all others, and only to be bound by its own voluntary act. In this relation, then, the new Constitution will, if established, be a FEDERAL, and not a NATIONAL constitution.”
—James Madison
Hows the jobs market out there?
It was faring better than the national average not too long ago. But now, not so much.

Be it further resolved that this resolution serves as notice and demand to the federal government, as South Carolina's agent, to cease and desist immediately all mandates that are beyond the scope of the federal government's constitutionally delegated powers.Yes!
99% of the BS in the Spend-o-rama bill would not apply to SC. Yes!
I see another side that isn’t mentioned here yet.
Only about 3 states are without a state income tax. Those states with their own income tax are in a better position to break away from the feds, financially. While the few states without any income tax, like Florida, would have immediate fiscal problems separating from the feds.
I light of this concept, I do not want to see Florida implement an income tax just to pursue separation down the road, albeit it might be necessary.
Congress has passed a long list of legislation which violates the Constitution. The Supreme Court has gone along with most of this. The book to read is “The Dirty Dozen - How Twelve Supreme Court Cases Radically Expanded Government and Eroded Freedom”, by Robert A. Levy & William Mellor.
For example, the authors argue that programs such as Social Security are unconstitutional since they take money from some taxpayers and redistribute the money to other taxpayers. We do not have individual Social Security accounts because our money is given to others who earned less during their working years. It’s not even funded - there is no “trust fund”. It’s a Ponzi scheme which, if set up by a corporation, would result in corporate executives going to jail.
All the States should asset their sovereignty and refuse to comply with federal intrusions.
The retread troll got the zot.
Better go back and read it again.
The ratification of the conventions of nine states, shall be sufficient for the establishment of this Constitution between the states so ratifying the same.
Before calling someone a traitor, you should first familiarize yourself with the Constitution.
Sumpter.
There is a Sumpter in Oregon but down here it is SUMTER.
I stand corrected. Thanks.
Great article explaining the States thoughts on this. Thanks.
see post 38 for a link.
This year, you could pay the tax by February 1st without penalty IF you filed your return and paid the tax at the same time.
I honestly can’t believe you just admitted that... Can you say “part of the problem”??? (I knew you could, and yes, I mean you). Do you ENJOY working with the Communist Government of China? Do you ENJOY helping them with their slave labor? IMHO, it’s absolutely disgusting.
I have spent a goodly portion of the day trying to get through to my state representatives to urge them to get on board this train before it leaves the station. Was able to talk to one chief of staff but still left requests for call backs from my reps themselves. I've requested an acquaintance of mine who can actually get through to the governor for assistance in championing the cause. One tidbit of information I was able to glean from my conversations is that there is awareness of this movement at least in some state offices, AND there is apparently some early discussions going on! Texas really, REALLY needs to come on line. It would be a major "statement" that neither the feral beast nor the dinomedia could ignore. So, without further ado, pinging those that haven't already found this thread:
I continue to add names to the ping list as I run across others I find participating on similar threads. If you want off the list just say so.

Are you two Yankees or liberals or both? Down here we happen to be proud of our Governor Mark Sanford and our Senator Jim DeMint. They are taking the lead in speaking out against the mismanagement of the federal government.
Yes, we also have Lindsey Graham but we’re not all perfect. I liked to ask you two, who is your Governor and what conservative Senators do you have standing up in these miserable times?
Must you just bash the South or can you at least see through your hatred of the South to recognize conservative principles?
