TO AFFIRM SOUTH CAROLINA'S SOVEREIGNTY UNDER THE TENTH AMENDMENT TO THE UNITED STATES CONSTITUTION OVER ALL POWERS NOT ENUMERATED AND GRANTED TO THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT BY THE UNITED STATES CONSTITUTION.
(Excerpt) Read more at scstatehouse.gov ...
Where am I wrong? Did I Misquote the US Constitution?
I agree with what these states are doing but I don’t think those who disagree should be called Obots. They’re wrong, that’s for sure. I just hate when I get called a “DU Troll” when I don’t agree with the Liberalterians.
Well, for calling state sovereignty folks traitors, for one. Or maybe you meant secessionist folks. They’re not traitors either.
You should be supporting this movement, it’s the only way to preserve freedom for our children.
The problem is South Carolina, takes more from the Federal Government than many other states. For every Dollar South Carolina gets from the Federal Government, they give back only 80 cents. If it wasn’t for the largess of the Federal Government, South Carolina would be in exponentially worse shape than it is in now.
Heck New York and California would have their budget problems solved if they got back exactly what they give to the feds.
The Founding Fathers knew what they were doing when they wrote we the people and not “We the States.” If they wanted to give the authority to the states, they would have made it explicit.
Treason is treason no matter how you dress it up. The United States must remain untied or they fall into Anarchy.
They’ve earned the designation with their vitriol and Alinskyite tactics. If it were mere disagreement, I wouldn’t have said it.
Watch them, you’ll see what I’m talking about. They’re in every one of these threads.
No, this was settled back in the 1860’s, We had a war. God’s Side won, the cowards lost. Losers don’t get to write history.
secessionist = traitors
Wow, you are stuck in the 1970’s if you think China is communist. Think of them as GE running a country.
signed up a couple of weeks ago, eh?
So, the states have no authority in the Constitution, do they, snarky?
Amendment 10: The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.
go back to DU DUmmy.
Now you’ve REALLY given yourself away. China’s not Communist anymore...
Sounds like a normal rank and file liberal denying that he’s a Socialist at heart.
right, and read what power are delegated to the Federal Government. It covers a lot of ground, there isn’t much there for the states to claim “mine.”
From what I know, you must have paid 90% of your expected tax by January 15th of the year following the tax year. It is not clear that you cannot pay 90% of your expected tax on that date. This may be what the other poster is referring to by suggesting you save the money rather than letting the government hold it. It’s your call.
Article I, Section 8 ENUMERATES the powers, and NOTHING outside of that is a Constitutionally authorized power of the fedgov.
Madison in Federalist No. 45:
The powers delegated by the proposed Constitution to the federal government are few and defined. Those which are to remain in the State governments are numerous and indefinite. “
Not sure where you get your info... but it’s meaningless and easily refuted.
Are you calling out Founding Fathers traitors?
Not really, have you ever been to China? Do you know what Communism actually is? Really if they were communists, I wouldn’t be able to do business there.
I’ve done millions of dollars worth of business there, and after setting up my company, the only time I deal with a government official is when I go through customs at the airport.
It’s much easier to start a business in China than it is in the US.
You are not a traitor if you win.
Slavery was a problem for the secessionist then, that’s why they lost. Even if secession isn’t the right of the states, which it is, the Feds have nullified the constitution anyway. We shouldn’t be bound to a contract that’s been scrapped.
I wasn’t yet a thought in the ‘70s.
Somebody said on here that every economy is indeed a Capitalist economy, the only question was who received the income made...
Even though I was born and still living in one of the worst states as far as laws go, I’m not so sure I’d call secessionists traitors...
I don’t think you’ve been here long enough to call people cowards. The South were valiant fighters who were overwhelmed by both technology and superior numbers. You might dial back your rhetoric a bit, Mr. 1/27/2009 sign-on.
