A RAW DEAL FOR AMERICAN FAMILIES: DEMOCRATS' TRILLION-DOLLAR SPENDING BILL PROVIDES $1.10 PER DAY IN TAX RELIEF TO WORKERS, WHILE SADDLING EVERY AMERICAN FAMILY WITH $6,500 IN ADDED DEBT
Following are some very tentative quick facts on the trillion-dollar "stimulus" spending deal slated to be rushed through the House and Senate today or tomorrow by Congressional Democrats, as compiled by the Office of House Republican Leader John Boehner (R-OH). These are based on best estimates on legislative text and scoring and may be subject to revision.
1. GENERATIONAL THEFT: The final agreement will cost each and every household more than $6,500 in additional debt, paid for by our children and grandchildren.
2. PALTRY TAX RELIEF FOR WORKING FAMILIES AND SMALL BUSINESSES. The “Making Work Pay” tax credit at the center of the plan amounts to $1.10 a day, not even enough to ride the bus one-way to work. According to the Associated Press, "Officials estimated [the bill's tax relief provisions] would mean about $13 a week more in people's paychecks when withholding tables are adjusted in late spring. Critics say that's unlikely to do much to boost consumption." (Taylor, Andrew; "Economic stimulus package on track for final votes," Associated Press, 12 Feb 09). While the specifics remain unknown, it appears likely that tax relief to help small businesses -- the primary engine of American job creation -- represents even less of a share of the final tax package, and it had been only a tiny percentage of the overall package to begin with.
3. MASSIVE GOVERNMENT EXPANSION. The final agreement is almost as much as the annual discretionary budget for the entire federal government.
4. A TRILLION-DOLLAR SPENDING BILL. The $789.5 billion final agreement slated for a House vote either today or tomorrow will exceed more than $1 trillion when adding in the interest of approximately $300 billion between 2009-2019.
5. UNNECESSARY SPENDING THAT WON'T CREATE JOBS. Apparently included in the final "jobs" bill is money for plug-in vehicles, money for STD prevention, and money for ACORN (via the Neighborhood Stabilization Program and CDBG program. The final agreement also creates new programs and funds existing programs that can be used to fund earmarks and pork-barrel projects.

Since Republicans (thus the media and the American people) have not yet been provided with a copy of the full bill, there will be much more to come.

I wonder if that $6,500 is calculated for just working families or all families? There is a difference which would make the burden on the ones that actually work much higher.

Frankly, I dont care about the Republican Party anymore. I am ready for Civil War II to throw all of these crooks out of office and start fresh with a government that the Founding Fathers would have approved of.
The point: this is not a stimulus bill. The JCPenney CEO today said retail needed a real stimulus package, not this one, as retail is losing 100K jobs per month. He said there is nothing in the bill to help his company or his sector. The bill is an appropriation bill, a social policy bill that could not pass if brought up in pieces or at a time where no emergency existed. As it is we are getting our medical and health lives forever changed in the name of an economic crisis.

We Want a Divorce.
Dear American liberals, leftists, social progressives, socialists, Marxists, Obama supporters, et al:
We have stuck together since the late 1950s, but the whole of this latest election process has made me realize that I want a divorce. I know we tolerated each other for many years for the sake of future generations, but sadly, this relationship has run its course. Our two ideological sides of America cannot and will not ever agree on what is right, so let’s just end it on friendly terms. We can smile, chalk it up to irreconcilable differences, and go our own ways.
Here is a model dissolution agreement. Our two groups can equitably divide up the country by land mass each taking a portion. That will be the difficult part, but I am sure our two sides can come to a friendly agreement. After that it should be relatively easy! Our respective representatives can effortlessly divide other assets since both sides have such distinct and disparate tastes. We don’t like re-distributive taxes so you can keep them. You are alsowelcome to keep the liberal judges and the ACLU.
Since you hate guns and war, we’ll take our firearms, the cops, the NRA, and the military. You can keep Oprah, Michael Moore, and Rosie O’Donnell (you are however, responsible for finding a bio-diesel vehicle big enough to move them). We’ll keep the capitalism, greedy corporations, pharmaceutical companies, Wal-Mart, and Wall Street. You can have your beloved homeless, homeboys, hippies, and illegal aliens. We’ll keep the hot Alaskan Hockey Moms, greedy CEOs, and Rednecks.
We’ll keep the Bibles and give you NBC and Hollywood .
You can make nice with Iran, Palestine, and France, and we’ll retain the right to invade and hammer places that threaten us. You can have the peaceniks and war protesters. When our allies or way of life are under assault, we’ll protect them militarily.
We’ll keep our Judeo-Christian Values. You are welcome to Islam, Scientology, Humanism, and Shirley McClain. You can have the U.N. but we will no longer be paying the bill. We’ll keep the SUVs, pickup trucks, and oversized luxury cars. You can take every Volvo, Subaru and Yugo you can find. You can give everyone healthcare, that is if you can find any practicing doctors (that is“practicing”, Howard Dean) who will follow to your turf. We’ll continue to believe health care is a luxury and not a right.
We’ll keep The Battle Hymn of the Republic and The National Anthem. I’m sure you’ll be happy to substitute Imagine, I’d Like to Teach The World To Sing, Kum Ba Ya, or We Are the World.
We’ll practice trickle down economics, and you can give trickle up poverty its best shot. Since it often so offends you. we’ll also keep our History, our Name, and our Flag.

Suspend the Federal income tax for the rest of the year and kick out all of the illegal immigrants.

And in the meanwhile, work LOCALLY to get conservative candidates elected from Dog Catcher on up. Let’s NEVER forget that 0bama was just a ‘community activist’ a few short years ago!
Secondly, keep your own financial house in order and do all you can legally to keep every DIME of your hard-earned tax dollars OUT of the hands of Washington.

Every self respecting American should do every thing within their power to ensure these three get thrown into the dust bin of history.
As I recal, there is a date in Mid May called something like “Tax Free” Day, where all the $$ you’ve earned up to that date is considered taxes, and the rest of the year are your earnings. I wonder, with this bast*** of a bill, what the new date would be?
How much tax relief are non-paying taxpayers gonna get? (don’t critique my sentence construction here)

It's my understanding that the payroll tax credit of $400 for individuals and $800 for couples is fully refundable. And, the education credits may be partially refundable.
