Just reported...

You people are ridiculous.
If Collins and Snowe are not re-elected, they will be replaced by communists.
Would you rather have Jeffords (R) or Sanders (S)?
Would you rather have Chaffee (R) or Whitehouse (C)?
Specter's replacement is going to be a black Marxist.
Yes, it is a done deal. The stimulus package will be passed after it gets out conference with the House. The Dems now have the votes. The bill can’t be stopped.
The three morons but Corker was an add-on and he does not support the bill even a little.
“Let’s not kid ourselves. Specter, however, is toast.”
You’re right, we should focus on Specter, he is the one we have a shot at.
But McConnell and Steele need to punish Collins, Snowe and Corker, severely....lose all Party caucus positions AND LOSE ALL Commitee positions of significance.
I’m watching McConnell and Steele closely on this to see how much support I give the GOP in the future.
Test for closure or actual closure vote...giving way to actual vote?
I’m a bit confused.
Would you trust Martinez? I wouldn’t!
A vote for cloture is essentially a vote for the bill to pass. The Dems have more than enough to get the 50 votes they need. Don't be tricked by Specter and the Mainettes voting for cloture and then voting against the bill to give them some cover. I wouldn't be surprised to see Reid allow a few of the more vulnerable Dems to vote against it to provide them cover. But make no mistake, everyone who voted for cloture (with the exception of Corker's procedural vote to maintain the right to have a revote) did everything they could to get Porkulus passed.
“Could you perhaps see about changing the title of this thread? The CNN story is titled: Key Senate vote advances $827 billion stimulus bill
The first report was from their TV feed - there was no title...
When all else fails...
Thanks to Irish Pennant.
He didn't leave any clues in his speech of Friday, February 6th. His "excuse" is predictable - he thinks it's better to limit debate and allow a vote on final passage. My guess is he'll vote against final passage. He's having his cake and eating it too. Corker Speech at Page S1787 (it's a snoozer)
OK, I'm settling down now. I understand what you're saying. The title of the thread threw a curve, and I reacted with anger (which I've been doing a lot lately since the commies took over our government). I still need to slap somebody though! :)
The votes might be different. There might be some who voted for cloture and will vote against the bill. There might even be one or two who voted for cloture today who will vote against cloture when it is brought up again once the bill comes out of conference. There is still the chance to stop this bill, but it will take a lot of angry phone calls from a lot of angry people to a lot of senators who will be up for reelection in 2010.
Lotta hair triggers around here.
What was the maneuver?
Collins was just reelected. Snowe will have no problem getting reelected and we will have trouble holding on to PA unless voter fraud is brought under control.
You are correct.
“Instead at yelling at people, realize you made an error. This was a cloture vote, not the actual vote for the bill. Huge difference.”
I have apologized, admitted and recognized. Before you crticize, try reading the whole thread. My first post was from what proved to be an innacurate report from the tube, not the web.
True!
Evidently Mr. Corker ain’t feeling us here in Tennessee.
I swear, I figured it would be Lame-ar instead.
Corker will not be voting for it in the final vote.
