...The true currency of free and fair markets is confidence. The real currency of collectivism is coercion. Confidence has a higher multiplier than coercion. Confidence leads to enthusiastic innovation; coercion to sullen compliance....

Obama will prove to be the Super Dave Osborne of politics. Big build-up & promise, followed by disaster

Towards the end of the article I found this:

Since WW2, four factors have impelled US recovery from recessions. These are: inventory rebuilding by businesses, household spending, home construction and payroll growth. These factors are, in turn, based on rising business and household confidence and expanding profits or household asset values. None of these factors are present in the economy in early 2009. They will, of course, eventually return.

This stimulus thing was doomed before it started.

I think I'm going to start calling this 0bama’s Reparations Bill to Benefit His Campaign Donors. This is a disaster and he's going to try to call it bipartisan. Pathological liar.

The true currency of free and fair markets is confidence.>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

True.

We no longer have a free and fair market.

Anyone who thnks so is merely dreaming.

Thats now gone. America poisoned the international
finance system using socilist derivative paper to
cover the affirmative mortage lending spree led by Fannie and Freddie.

And socialists have taken over our banking system.

That means we have no fair and free market anymore.

Get your money offshore, and invest in other freer economies:

Canada, Brazil, India and Japan. The US is now a Socialist Nation.

People just do not yet realize it.

Its over, Grover.

We have to wait a minimum of 4 years to see if there will be any change, unless something HUGH and SERIES happens.

Meanwhile investors are leaving the US markets in droves, and will not return as long as Obama keeps pretending to be president. Some will NEVER return. They just lost too much.

So whether there is confidence or not makes no difference.
And investors know it.

The Dow will have a gasping rally this week, and then will plunge into the unamed depths below 7800.

The most important reason didn’t even make the top 3. I’m disappointed. The stimulus will fail, because government doesn’t produce anything. The net result of this stimulus package is going to be rampant inflation which is going to greatly devalue the net worth of those who have saved. Then when things get worse, government will just nationalize a little bit more, and we’ll be a full blown socialist state along the lines of Sweden before it’s over.

“... doomed before we started ...”

Exactly correct! Rahm Emanuel said it correct .. we should take advantage of this opportunity to get things done.

But .. the things they want done are just a bunch of paybacks to their supporters and a few more programs we can’t afford.

What is the “stimulus” bill about?

Sustained power for the left, period.

WE SHOULD BE IN THE STREETS.

The stimulus bill will “fail” only if you measure success by their stated goals and not their real goals.

Today's Washington Post already called it "bipartisan'. Yep you guessed it, front page above the fold. That's the Washington Pathological Post for ya.

I can’t help but wonder if we are really going to go down without so much as a whimper? There should be a movement all across the nation to defeat this bill. I made phone calls and sent e-mails to traitor senators this weekend, but that just isn’t enough. We need a concentrated, mass campaign that moves fast to save our great country from the Socialist/Fascists. Television ads, anyone? Huge marches on state capitals and the White House? We need to get going on this. All the phone calling and letter/fax/e-mailing is not going to be enough. God save America.

China’s reserves are greater than those of the next 3 combined....

Gee, how exactly did this happen? Oh yeah, we sent them out industry and our $$. Now they get to buy our debt so we can buy more of their products with the $$. Kind of like the heroin dealer who sells to a new customer at a discount, knowing that they’re locked in for good once the habit forms.

The sad fact is that most Americans intuitively know something is wrong with the picture. However, they are also busy hoping for a slice of the goodies and will therefore be happy and compliant. As long as the bill for this party is paid for 1) in the future or 2) by someone else, all is well. There just aren’t enough people of principle to raise a fuss. And most of them are shunting their frustrations onto the Internet (hey—that’s me).

Yeah, the ‘three reasons’ are as follows:

1. Owe

2. Spend

3. Owe more!
