NEW YORK – As the Obama administration attempts to push through Congress a nearly $1 trillion deficit spending plan that is weighted heavily toward advancing typically Democratic-supported social welfare programs, a rebellion against the growing dominance of federal control is beginning to spread at the state level.
So far, eight states have introduced resolutions declaring state sovereignty under the Ninth and Tenth Amendment to the Constitution, including Arizona, Hawaii, Montana, Michigan, Missouri, New Hampshire, Oklahoma and Washington.
Analysts expect that in addition, another 20 states may see similar measures introduced this year, including Alaska, Alabama, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Kansas, Nevada, Maine and Pennsylvania.
"What we are trying to do is to get the U.S. Congress out of the state's business," Oklahoma Republican state Sen. Randy Brogdon told WND.

And it was the two Republican Senators from Maine and the Republican Senator from Pennsylvania that went over to the dark side and voted FOR this pork bill that gave the Dims the 60 votes it needed.

Dear Rep. Fetterman,
I am taking a moment to write you about the troubling economic situation, and how these times can cause us to lose sight of the fundamentals our nation was based on. Our Founding Fathers had been oppressed by their government, and knew without a doubt, that by throwing off the shackles of tyranny was the only way for their children, countrymen and themselves to prosper. A very small group of very brave men took it upon themselves to join together and declare their independence from this tax happy monarchy and laid down their signatures and then their very lives for this cause.
It has now become self evident to another group of brave citizens that this course must again be undertaken. While watching in horror, the largest spending bill in history being forced upon a populace by a small band of theives in Washington, not representing their constituents views, and rewarding various groups for their loyalty during elections, it is obvious to all but the most blind that we cannot borrow our way out of debt. The bill put forth is 48% tax cuts and 52% spending with absolutely no mention of spending cuts for the government except to cut our military budget by 10% at a time when we are fighting a war on 2 fronts, and our sons and daughters are in harms way! Instead, government is planning to fund abortion, STD prevention, and honeybee studies, among billions of more in “the PORKULOUS bill” or as Sntr Corker put it, the biggest generational theft bill of all time. Think about that, generational theft. You have children, as do I, and we are stealing their opportunity to have the same life our parents did, because we don’t want to face our debt problem.
Our Founding fathers have said many things about passing debt on to future generations, about entitlement spending, taxing the people, and big government. There is way too much over reaching in all these areas today. Please read Jefferson, Davey Crockett, Franklin, Washington and the Federalist papers. We are succumbing to the very things they warned of. Re read, with fresh eyes, the declaration of independence, and most importantly, the Constitution of the United States. See with the eyes of our Fathers what they were trying to protect us from.
While I know you personally are not involved in federal negotiations on this bill, our Governor is supporting this bill. This will NOT stand with Floridians. We are hurting for sure, my husband has been unemployed for 4 months now. I have not asked for food stamps, mortgage reductions, welfare, or any other entitlement spending on our behalf. I ask you to NOT put my children further into debt on our behalf. It was our irresponsibility looking for easy credit, instant gratification, keeping up with the Joneses, and not planning well for the future. I do not want to burden them with our generations greed.
20 states have put forth bills reaffirming the rights of their states. Why all of a sudden do you think this is happening? It is because so many constituents feel their rights and liberties slipping away, that drastic measures to protect the sovereignty of the state is necessary. I urge you, and your fellow representatives, to put up a similar bill in our state. While being part of the Union is important, it does NOT supersede the right to be a sovereign state. Our rights are being eroded as union members, whether abuses of the 2nd amendment, abortion, ILLEGAL immigration, religious freedom,gay marriage, and taxation without representation. I hope you will consider truly representing us in the state of Florida by putting forth such a message to Washington on behalf of the people in Florida.

There are a number of states, mostly Western ones like AZ, MT, ND, etc, who have recently asserted their right to secede in certain circumstances. I believe AZ has stated they will automatically secede if the Constitution is ever suspended due to martial law AND a certain number of states trigger similar clauses.
Secession is not likely, but it is interesting that several states are publicly and legally asserting themselves. What is left unsaid in the article is one possible reason for this. Massive immigration and racial politics are only going to get worse. The federal government will keep mandating laws and programs that will bankrupt state budgets. Does a state like Idaho really need to follow the same laws and institute the same programs as Maryland? A state like MD must tailor its legislation in areas like welfare and gun control specifically to racial and cultural realities - its voters demand that it does. When the Democratic Party controls the federal government, that same thinking gets turned into federal law and spending packages.
This is only going to intensify. Once there begins a sizable demographic shift of whites moving West, the dissolution of the union will follow. This could take 20 to 50 years and is not inevitable, but it is certainly possible.

Pennsylvania may have gone blue in the presidential election, but, in the flyover counties between philly and pittsburgh, we are RED - with the exception of Murtha’s district, Erie and Scranton. Our state has the largest population of gun owners and hunters in the country. We have solid conservative representatives from the red counties in Pa. It’s from those red counties that I’ll bet this was brought forth.
It’s the Philly and Pittsburgh RATS that keep getting Sphincter elected. Don’t judge us all by them. We have to work harder to get him out next time - and no GW Bush to campaign for him!

What is commerce "among" them; and how is it to be conducted? Can a trading expedition between two adjoining States, commence and terminate outside of each? And if the trading intercourse be between two States remote from each other, must it not commence in one, terminate in the other, and probably pass through a third? Commerce among the States must, of necessity, be commerce with the States.

Commerce among the several States means the ENTITIES of the States, or State governments. For instance; if Hawaii and Iowa wanted to trade pineapples for corn, the federal government would arbitrate the exchange to insure it was equitable.
I'm surprised too. I called my state senator and representative a couple of days ago to urge support of this initiative, and none of the staffers had ever heard of the idea. Senator Greenleaf's staff requested information, which I forwarded. No response yet.

The names of the three traitors, need to be shouted from the house tops until they are considered to be just what they are, and run out of office. The next battle will be even tougher as the bill goes back to the house.
With Obama bleating incessantly about a perceived crisis, and the house dems crying over spilt pork, how many of the brave Republicans will be able to hold the line when this bill hits the conference committee?
The noise from the American people will have to be four times what it was for the senate review of the bill, and even then we won’t be heard, because of the herd mentality. We are about to find out just how much the people are going to stand.
Congress can apparently stretch any statement to cover any cause they see fit. Maybe the problem is with the politicians? Maybe we should go back to the Citizen Civil Servant as first required? I don’t think that the office of any State or Federal Representative or Senator should be a paid position, nor should any politician get a lifetime pension for serving for as little as two years. After all, these bums work FOR us not against us as they appear to be doing currently with this non-stimulating pork roast of a bill.
Years ago, someone at National Review proposed an amendment to the Constitution, reading: “The Ninth and Tenth Amendments to this Constitution are to be observed.”
“The time has come to “form a more perfect union” by states rights. The battle of the states has begun. History is in the making once again”
At some point it seemed to be accepted that the federal government was more reasoned and responsible than the state governments ... that is a falsehood. It is time for a political revival, which will necessitate a spiritual one, to strive for that “shining city upon a hill” that Pres. Reagan foresaw. I can think of no greater shame than not preserving the freedoms that we were so selflessly given, so the next generation can also enjoy them.
Saw a color coded map recently that depicted red and blue by county...the blue portions were only in large city areas where populations could be easily controlled and directed to vote. Strange.
the adolescent, psychotic punks in congress are going to have to learn that they promised to uphold the constitution of the united states and not the communist manifesto.

Speaking of the Fourth Amendment:
Why is it a violation of the Fourth Amendment that cries to heaven for vengeance, if the CIA, FBI, or NSA listens to the telephone call of a non-citizen who is a terrorist,
but NOT a violation of the Fourth Amendment if the government grabs my COMPLETE MEDICAL HISTORY, and scans and digitizes it, and uses it to take control of my medical care?
