WASHINGTON In a clear signal that the Obama administration is shifting the governments approach to energy exploration on public lands, Interior Secretary Ken Salazar on Wednesday canceled oil and gas leases on 77 parcels of federal land that opponents said would blight Utahs scenic southeastern corner.
Salazars decision which reverses the Bush administrations December move to allow drilling on about 130,000 acres near pristine areas such as Nine Mile Canyon, Arches National Park and Dinosaur National Monument is one of a series of steps that the administration and congressional Democrats are planning to take to reshape federal regulation of drilling, mining, lumbering and other resource tapping activities, both on American soil and offshore.

Yup, jobs lost, increased fuel costs. Couple this with the normal dhimmi dimbulb approach to “warming” and this promises to be interesting.
I really hope that the DC dhimmis are prepared for the upcoming tar and feather party.

More jobs lost. Right. And it's no coincidence that they're going to be lost in Utah.

Way to destabilize the economy, Obama. Interfering with contracts on this scale is sure to jumpstart the economy. But what about all those Union oilworkers?

In a clear signal that the Obama administration is shifting the governments approach to energy exploration on public lands... My mental picture is that of Obama furtively nodding to Chavez, Putin, and of course, his arab buddies.

Another campaign lie exposed, that Obama isn't against drilling. I guess his plan for energy independence and lower energy prices is “hope.”

Let me see...Gas was approaching $5.00 a gallon then President Bush removed the restrictions then gas went to $1.59.
I guess this action will keep that low rate locked in until..... 1:30 this afternoon if we're lucky.

Well THANK GOD! His policy of tire inflation will keep energy prices down!
We are truly blessed to have him in office...
I don’t know about you guys, but that was pretty sarcastic. I could always pour it on thicker if that wasn’t enough?
