Hamas must somehow be brought into the Middle East peace process because the policy of isolating Gaza in the quest for a settlement will not work, Tony Blair has told The Times.
The former prime minister implicitly criticises the strategy followed by the Bush Administration and Israel of focusing all peace and reconstruction efforts on the West Bank. It was half of what we needed, he said.

Dear Tony,
Read the Hamas Charter and then explain how exactly they are to be brought into the peace process.

ASTUTE OBSERVER: Hamas is not part of the peace process because they don’t want peace.
Read the Hamas charter.

Read the Hamas Charter and then explain how exactly they are to be brought into the peace process. That's easy. The latest Israeli action brought several hundred Hamas terrorists into the peace process. They just need to do it again as necessary until all terrorists have accomplished their goal of martyrdom, and then Israel will have peace.

From the UK - this is a bit of a wake up call to all Freepers who insisted Tony was a cool dude for supporting Iraq... He was of course right on that .... but he was, and is a lefty / liberal who ruined the UK and will do no good on the world stage where his ego will likely be inflated into delusional mode.

If we just do something different than President Bush it'll all work out. Hmmm... I guess Clinton followed the Bush policy, Pappy Bush too, along with Reagan, Carter, Ford, Nixon, LBJ, JFK etc. None of their Israeli/Palestinian policies worked either. We'll eventually prove that 1+1=3 so long as we keep changing policies until we find the right one.

Now, if Israel were removed from the process, there would be peaceI think even if Israel were to disappear tomorrow, Hamas and its supporters would still be fomenting hatred and terrorism against Europe and the US.

I agree totally: bring Hamas in in a body bag....show them to Fatah, and let them know they have a choice: be like Hamas, or change.

Hamas has brought peace into the process just as Adolf Hitler brought peace to Europe by gobbling up Austria and the czechoslovakia...
The Jewish remember that time, and remembered what happened next -- with the invasion of Poland on September 1, 1939. Joe Stalin of the USSR lent a helping hand for peace by helping himself to part of Poland...
Those who do not learn from History are doomed to relive it...
It is more like Hamas is out for a PIECE of the action with what they are doing...
I believe they started this with daily rockets/missiles fired into Israel.
They are clearly a terrorist group by the FBI's definition and the US, under Bush, has vowed to attack terrorist in any part of the world. Hamas is clearly a terrorist group...
