"Guilty as hell, free as a birdAmerica is a great country," he said. Chicago Magazine, No Regrets, Aug 2001. |
Bill Ayers, a professor of education at the University of Illinois-Chicago, became a focal point of the 2008 presidential campaign. Described by Republican nominee John McCain as a washed up terrorist, Ayers was a prominent figure with Students for a Democratic Society and the Weather Underground in the late 1960s and 1970s.
After spending several years living underground as the U.S. government pursued charges against him that it later dropped, Ayers went on to become one of the nations leading voices on education reform. He will speak to Saint Marys students about his new book, Teaching toward Freedom: Moral Commitment and Ethical Action in the Classroom. Sponsored by Jan Term, the Social Justice Speaker Series and the Disney Forum.
When: Wed., Jan. 28 7:30 p.m.
Where: Soda Center, Saint Mary's College, 1928 Saint Mary's Rd., Moraga
Contact: Director of Scheduling and Promotion Bill Sullivan (925) 631-4322

Hope to see you there!
I wonder how many of Obama’s books Ayers ghost wrote?
wish I could be there, good luck
socialist, revolutionary punk.
IMHO
Ask him a question about writing Obama’s book and see if he slips on it. :)
Good luck, y’all! Give ‘im hell!!!!!!! <3
Or how many of his speeches he still ghost-writes.
Personally, I think this Favreau kid is just a front for Ayers.
Glad you’ll be there. Personally, I think Ayers and his evil ideas are probably the brains behind the empty suit. Er, I mean the President.
If I lived three thousand miles closer, I’d be there too!
I will be there in spirit. And I hope you all have great weather and clear voices.
(Wonder if bill ayers has ever wondered how he would feel if his grown children were to advise 'killing parents'?)
Good on you! Too far away, and unable to afford to join in, but give ‘em he!!, Jim.
I graduated from St. Mary’s in the late 1990s... they keep asking me for alumni money... fat chance.
See you there Jim.
Grate!
I’ll be there with my American flag and double dog dare that treasonous, terrorist SOB to try to trample it in my presence.
A parent of two students at St. Mary's has contacted me with this email:
"...I spoke this morning with Michael Bessea (sic?), a Vice President at St. Marys. The upshot of the conversation was his acknowledgment that the college has unnecessarily created a controversy with a poor choice in speakers. He told me that Ayers was invited by a faculty committee without input from the rest of the faculty. He has received numerous protests from students, parents and faculty apparently. Bessea admitted that Ayers is being paid, but declined to state the amount."
St. Mary's is being flooded with emails, so keep the pressure up!
Call or email and let them know how you feel.
I unloaded on them via phone and email.
I will have to shift some stuff around and be there!
....................
As a 4th generation Bay Area resident, I am mortified that St. Mary’s is having Bill Ayers speak on campus.
Please be advised my company will never donate anything to St. Mary’s in the future. And I will be encouraging everyone I and my family knows to do the same.
DESPICABLE! Shame on you all and may God forgive you.
Wish I could be there to protest with you! I want to make William Ayers so miserable that he will leave this country!
Unfortunately, I can't. I live in Washington state now...
Just got off the phone with them again. They are getting hammered but Ayers is still scheduled to speak.
I told them that by inviting this pestilence into our community was not acceptable and unforgivable.
