Republicans plan to test President Obama's commitment to bipartisanship as his $825 billion stimulus package heads to the floor of the House of Representatives this week, with the House Republican leader saying Sunday morning that many in his party will vote no unless there are significant changes to the plan.
While the plan can potentially pass the Democrat-dominated House without Republican support, it will continue to face opposition when it comes before the Senate, said Senator John McCain of Arizona, speaking on "Fox News Sunday." At least two Republicans will need to approve the bill for a filibuster-proof majority vote of 60.
Senator McCain, who lost the presidential election to Mr. Obama in November, said that he planned to vote no unless the bill were changed.

It also will be interesting to see if any Democratic Senator decides to vote against this. Let’s also see how the new N.Y. Senator votes on this.
2 Republicans. Yo Ho Ho and a bottle of Rum. That will be easy. Roll thye printing presses and give em a couple bil. A split of the loot oughta do it.
Jeez. Ya think? There is something sooo creepy about this guy.
I know you're probably sincere so I'll just say, no comment
I don’t get what Republicans would gain politically by going with Obama on anything. In elections, Republicans will be running against Democrats. Just by virtue of party, the Democrats can associate themselves more closely with the One if that’s the critierion for getting votes. The Republicans best and only option would be to present themselves as strong voices of opposition and hope enough people tire quickly of this hope and change bull.
“Obama refuses to incorporate ANY conservative ideas!”
There, fixed it.
" After Republicans complained they were left out of drafting the stimulus bill making its way through Congress, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi remarked, 'Yes, we wrote the bill. Yes, we won the election.'"
Obama siad basically the same thing "I won".
The Democrats had no intention for any bipartisanship. Republicans should make it clear that they don't support the Democrats' agenda, let the Dems own the stimulus and the uniletaral disarming of the US.
No compromise, no mediation. Conservative, or NOTHING at all!
They will cave, just like the first stimulus. Any reluctance is just for show.

Yup. Resistant, Repubs? PROVE IT!!!!!!!!!!! Meanwhile.....you won’t get ANOTHER dime from me.
Don’t be surprised if the RATS cave on the family planning funds in hopes of getting Pubbie support. RATS will start freaking out if they realize that this bill will be labelled theirs and theirs alone.
Pelosi is so clueless. Funding contraception and abortions reduces costs? Sure Nancy. For every birth prevented, one or more illegal aliens arrive(s)—and guess who gets stuck with the tab for their health care?
No, don’t give them credit for backbone yet. We’ve seen this song and dance. They resist. They play coy. Sometimes they even reject it with the first vote. Then they back down.
Way too early in this process to give them any credit.
I would like Republicans to note how the Democ rat’s don’t give a damn about their imput and they are all saying “they won” and running with it. Learning a lesson yet GOP?
The fat dripping from this bill will be all the ear marks added to cajole a few reluctant Democrat Senators to get on board. The price tag will exceed $1 trillion.
All talk. When it gets voted down, there’s a story.
Hmph . . . . . I wonder why???
Too many of them, however are wishing that they had been equally resistant to Bush's "Stimulus" plan that has been what most of us here predicted it would - a HUGE flop for the country but a boondoggle for poorly run businesses.
**Republicans Are Resistant to Obama’s Stimulus Plan**
Good, vote against all the dimocrats’ earmarks and pork. They will have to answer for it in the mid-term elections, and the dimocrats will lose seats!!! Hehehehe!
I find it tough to believe they won't find a handful of RINOs to support the bill.
RE-learning a lesson yet GOP?
Fixed it for ya.
