“How is it that “earmarks” were talked about (negatively) so much during the election, but we now have the largest pork barrel spending plan ever, and it’s supposed to be a good thing?”

It’s not. This is bait-and-switch by Obama and the Democrats.

They just are taking their $800 billion in pet spending, putting lipstick on the pig and selling it as ‘stimulus’. All it stimulates is big Government.

“No. It’s expensive and won’t fix anything. 52% “

That is the correct answer!!!
Wow. the American people (at least half) are not morons!

Now all we have to do is get that SILENT MAJORITY to call Congress and rip them a new a-hole for daring to push this junky boondoggle monstrosity.

Call Pelosi, call your Senators, Reps, and the rest. Tell them you oppose the bill. 202-224-3121.
This is important because it will embolden the opponents and cow the supporters.

We need 41 votes to hold the line.

“The bill has millions for contaceptives and another #400 million for National Public Radio. Where is the stimulus in this (other than the contraceptives, of course!) We the taxpayer are getting screwed again.”

Yup. This is the worst deficit spending boondoggle bill in US history. Biggest deficit ever.

And it is the creation of the Democrats running everything in DC. We only have 41 votes in the Senate so the best we can hope for is a filibuster. that and angry constituents burning up the phone lines.

I have not met a single person that isn’t angry about the last bailout. They want to know where THAT money went. If the Reps stand firm in their opposition to the “stimulus” package, they will earn a few points with the public.

I agree. Good politics and good policy are the same here. Stop the bailouts and stop the boondoggles.
