A Patriot does not wish those desiring to turn the country into a Communist state to succeed. We fight those against freedom and liberty.

Zero wants to force Catholic hospitals to provide abortions. I do not wish him to succeed in that.
Zero believes in "redistributing wealth" -- i.e., taking my hard-earned money and giving it to someone else with neither my consent nor my approval. I do not wish him to succeed.
Zero wants to raise his own "citizen army." I do not wish him to succeed.
Zero believes that terrorists can be talked into not wanting to kill us, so he wants to sit down and discuss "terms" with them. I do not wish him to succeed.
There are more, but you get the point.

He has a short honeymoon, but I agree that wanting him to fail just to make partisan or ideological points is not patriotic.

Do we wish the serpent success as he tempts the nation with the fruit of Godless Marxism?
We have passed over a tipping point folks. The American flag is no longer worth saluting. The voters have sided with wickedness.
It’s time to get yourself aligned with Jesus Christ, who has always been the real and only Saviour. The next few years will be a test of where each of us stands.

For me it is a dilemma. I am fundamentally opposed to the philosophy he has articulated so clearly prior to the election. I believe if implemented his core beliefs would cause far more damage than good and lead the nation into a path of degradation. Just because Obama and his advisors say something is good doesn't make it so. I dont mean to sound political here, but rather one who is an adherent to the country our ancestors have handed down to us.
In short, I do not have a lot of trust in Obama. And that lack of trust stems from his biographical past experiences, his hidden history, his campaign rhetoric, his associates and associations, and some of his current advisors. I want success, yes - for the nation, not a personality.

Who gets to decide what "succeed" means?
I hope the Bamster upholds his coronation inauguration oath, I hope he makes this country more free, more prosperous, and safer for all of its citizens, including those who aren't born yet.
That is not how Obama defines "success," and none of his stated policies will accomplish those objectives.
Therefore, since his failure is the closest thing I'm likely to see to my definition of success, I hope he fails.
When we start defining "patriotism" as loyalty to a particular individual, we're well down the same slope that Germany went down in 1933.

Actually I do hope he succeeds. I also hope that what he succeeds in is not having the Socialist agenda he plans on pushing succeed.

It depends on the definition of "success." I want him to succeed in defending the country, whether or not I believe he's taking the best approach. Any who disagree are as unpatriotic as the abominable leftists who actually wished for failure in Iraq to advance their own political goals.
But when it comes to the more liberal policy initiatives he may propose, I obviously want him to fail. Success for him would mean failure for the free market, and for conservatives.
To the extent that he tries to run the country, I want him to succeed. To the extent he tries to change it to make it more liberal, I want him to fail.

I thought dissent was a patriotic act?Not since 15 minutes ago!
To: Til I am the last man standing
Patriots time to stand up and make noise. This guy is not an American nor a patriot .I will not follow such a mistake . He is only a politician not a patriot . People like George Washington were patriots they fought for our rights they did not buy the presidency .They fought for our freedoms they didn't take them away .I don't feel like adopting the ways of the communist to say I am patriotic.

I want him to fail and the reason is that if he does succeed then we will have another 4 years of him plus his agenda will succeed.
That is something I do not want and therefore I want obama to fail meaning I want his agenda to fail.
Maybe then the American idol sheep will think a bit more before they vote in this kind of phony again

But I thought that dissent was the highest form of patriotism. That’s what the barking moonbats have been saying for the past 8 years anyway, so why is it now all of a sudden not true???????

Obama won’t succeed if he stays on the course he’s charted for himself. We’re not unpatriotic, we’re merely issuing the warning.
In any event, most newspapers are little but dens of leftist Democrats.

I will give Obama no more support than the left gave President Bush.
Obama has flouted his disregard for our legal system, nominating Holder, his disregard for our economic system by nominating Geitner, and his disregard for our foreign standing by nominating Hillary. Then there is his secretary of state, who was involved in the sale of Obama’s Sentate seat. True, Obama was not to receive anything for the seat, but Emanuel was arranging for Blago to receive a payment from the SEIU.
Obama thinks that he is emulating Lincoln, but he has forgotten the part about not being able to fool all the people, all of the time.
