Sadly, the 3rd Quad-Annual Quadrennial Free Republic Inaugural Ball in DC has been cancelled due to lack of interest. There will be no refunds (seeing as how no tickets were sold - and none offered).
However, now is the time to begin planning a conservative offensive movement.
How many of you would like to attend a two day conference symposium, er "FReepmeet" regarding taking back our country? It's been suggested that if we do this, it should be held in a central location or airline hub like Denver or Dallas so a maximum number of FReepers can attend.
If not us, who? If not now, when?
Please post your ideas to the thread.
That is all.
Would we be incognito to protect ourselves from spies...Indeed! A costume party because I do not do the pagan Halloween. Who wants to wait for October anyhow?
I like Dallas!
Thanks for the good laugh!! We really needed it!!
I suppose it all depends on when you are proposing to have a FreepMeet, as to where I suggest, but having one sure sounds good to me too.
I’d like to draft Matt Salmon to run against McCain in the primary...
I heartily agree that we would get the most participation with thousands of small comando squads set up in each Congressional district.
Point #2: According to Democrats, dissent is patriotic.
Point #3: If you are convinced in your heart and have a clean conscience before God, you have nothing to hide.
We still have a First Amendment and I, for one, will not be cowed into fear.
Nope.
You know a yawl is not a schooner.
And the boat in your photo is not gaff rigged.
A yawl is a sloop or cutter with a mizzen mast rigged abaft the rudder post.
Actually, your photo is a marconi yawl with a sloop rigged main (as opposed to a cutter rig).
May you always have beam winds and following seas!
From what I understand with the Freepers, there are Freepers who know each other in local areas and in other states.
After looking at the way in which the other side has worked the last two elections, they established themselves within local and state areas. Another idea presented to the GOP in 2004 that was brushed off was setting up workers on the Internet working with a data base in order to keep Conservatives/Republicans aware of who was running, money needed, etc. Camp Obama made this work and we can make this work.
One thing that Rush stated after the 2000 presidential election that has stayed with me is ... Local elections do matter.... and this is yet another way to get involved with the local and state GOP.... if more Conservatives were involved in the local and state GOP then taking back the GOP would work. Yes, this takes time but the key to this is finding LEADERS willing to do this in each area.
We need people who are willing to run for political office. Conservatives that will NOT change once they are elected.
There are other ideas but that is where my ideas and view starts.
WACO....You know, I was just thinking a nice big farm somewhere....Something out in the country since some of us have an aversion to big cities. Unfortunately my own farm should sell soon.
Is there less opportunity for sabotage/infiltration if under the radar?
That actually sounds like one heck of an idea.
That could tour nationally, with one main group as the lead organizers, with all the rest of us volunteering locally.
Phoenix.
Lol. That’s funny, but this might be funnier (the writer’s at South Park actually get paid to be funny):)

Cheapest avg destination-of-travel cost is to Las Vegas.
I like to think of American culture as a Norman Rockwell tableau; others see it as Andy Warhol; still others wade through a Jackson Pollock as they walk the hallways of this museum of fine art, unfinished awaiting a fresh coat of paint, we all pause at the doorway for fear the next brush is already loaded with tempera...
I like your idea. Let’s more people be involved that can’t do the cross country travel thing.
You name the place, Jim.
I will try to be there. Some suggestions are long drives from Florida but a road trip is possible and appeals to me more than a flight.
I think the meeting should be the organizing effort for the many local ones to follow...I love the social meetings, but it is time to set an active agenda.
I’m glad you let us know about this thread!
Dallas, sure. St. Louis, definitely. I love St. Louis. Memphis, aka the Detroit of the South...hell no!
