An anti-tax activist from upstate New York who is questioning whether President-elect Barack Obama is a "natural born citizen" eligible for the nation's top job said Tuesday that his non-profit group spent "tens of thousands of dollars" to get his message across in ads in the Chicago Tribune this week.
Robert L. Schulz, 69, chairman of We The People Foundation, took out ads Monday and Wednesday to raise questions about whether Obama's Hawaii certificate of live birth is authentic.
The ads echo accusations circulated online by some Obama opponents before the election. Cases challenging Obama's citizenship have been tossed out of local courts in several states, and Hawaiian officials have vouched for the authenticity of Obama's birth certificate, which is locked in a state vault. The Obama campaign likewise has always dismissed the accusations.
Nevertheless, some critics remain dubious.

They have vouched for the "authenticity"...We still don't know what it says... It could say he was born on Mars...Hawaii only said it was authentic...
My best guess is the Trib was inundated with questions about the ad.
yes according to Hawaii statutes which many freepers have already posted here.
He has provided no proof of having been born in Hawaii, the COLB shown on the Chicago Tribune front page ( which has incidentally also been proven fraudulent) is a registration doc that any parent could get on file for a foreign born child if they could prove residency for at least a year.
Since this is a recently created ‘fake’ doc, it now appears that possibly his mother did not even take care of this business back mnay years ago....and perhaps getting something this thing on file was the reason Obama made his FIRST rush trip to Hawaii this summer to see grandma for one hour ( kids and Michelle were in town, but did not bother to visit her).

As long as the questions are asked, the vault copy of the birth certificate produced and the Constitution is upheld, they can call me any name in the book.
Yes, it’s the online edition and a great start. The print version only has a readership of about 500k people. The online version, however is global. ;-)

BTW, the Trib reporters who wrote this Defense of Obama piece do not seem to understand, or even know, the difference between a Hawai’ian Certificate of Live Birth and Certification of Live Birth.
What the law suits are asking for is the vault copy of the Certificate of Live Birth, which should contain the name and signature of the doctor, nurse or midwife who presided over BHO’s birth, and the name of the hospital where his birth took place.
That’s what Obama has been spending tens, perhaps hundreds, of thousands of dollars to his lawyers to keep anyone and everyone from seeing. The Certification of Live Birth that Team Obama put up on his web site, fraudulent or not, is not the real issue. That’s a smoke screen. It’s the Certificate of Live Birth that needs to be produced.
In my uneducated opinion, the USSC, in accordance with the wording of the U. S. Constitution, should properly place the burden on Obama to prove that he is qualified for the office.

Birth Abroad to One Citizen and One Alien Parent in Wedlock: A child born abroad to one U.S. citizen parent and one alien parent acquires U.S. citizenship at birth under Section 301(g) INA provided the citizen parent was physically present in the U.S. for the time period required by the law applicable at the time of the child's birth. (For birth on or after November 14, 1986, a period of five years physical presence, two after the age of fourteen is required. For birth between December 24, 1952 and November 13, 1986, a period of ten years, five after the age of fourteen are required for physical presence in the U.S. to transmit U.S. citizenship to the child.
She did not live in the US for 5 years after the age of 14 before he was born. If he was born overseas, not only would he not have "natural born" citizenship, he would not have US citizenship.
