A suspected suicide bomber has struck close to the entrance to the US embassy in Kabul, Afghanistan, witnesses and police say.
It is unclear so far whether there are any casualties.
Reports said the bomber detonated explosives about 200m from the heavily guarded entrance to the US compound.
Security in Afghanistan has become a key concern for foreign troops and officials, as the country faces an increasingly strong Taleban insurgency.

You reap what you sow. Since 2002 the Dems have done nothing but complain and ridicule our response to 9/11. Whine, whine, calling our own soldiers everything but terrorists. Now we have the Dems in TOTAL control. Of course the terrorists are going to push hard. It will start out of the country, just like it did under Clinton. And just like with Clinton there will be no real response. Just softening us up.

American Embassy’s are very secure against attacks if they have been built in the last 20-years. Too many layers of protection and security. Even if they get into the compound area, they probably are not going to be able to breach the doors - even then they have multiple problems with miltiple doors, and the enhanced security.
This is a fight between Indian Muslims and Hindus. It has nothing to do with our fight in Afghanistan. Even if we pacified Afghanistan tomorrow, this fight will continue for generations.

I am going to respectfully disagree with your characterization of the freeper behavior. You are right in this statement. But, Obama ran on the position that the terrorists hated us because of Bush's policies and that "the world" would love us when he was president. Freepers are concerned that the terrorists will no longer fear us (clearly they fear Bush - specific statements from Lybian leader and lack of attempted attacks on US soil, etc.) and will step up their efforts when Obama is in charge. Seriously, we do not want that.

Most of what I’ve read says they were targeting Westerners, not Hindus.

Of the few things that we can take as genuinely self-evident I would have thought that the guilt of a suicide bomber was one of them.
Exactly what has been going through my mind since this cataclysmic new development in Mumbai....activity will be stepped up, but probably sporadically in numerous other places right up to Jan 20. THEN, we can wait for what Biden talked about. A “testing” of mettle on our own soil of the new C in C. And you just know what he meant by “ at first you may not believe we’re doing the right thing, but just wait.....” ( until we sit down at the table with them, and give them whatever it is they want). The ONLY thing we have to trade is to allow more Muslims in, more mosques, more cross-cultural “understanding”, the introduction of Sharia law in select communities, more accomodation to taxi-drivers, troublemakers, college students, CAIR, and ultimately the Europeanization of the USA, with Islam integrated into a whole newly installed cornerstone of our slowly transformed culture. Some of us will NOT LET it happen. But that is the ONLY thing that the Left feels will keep us from direct, apocalyptic violence. I know it in my bones.
