A supporter of Proposition 8, fed up with what he believed was the gay community's and "liberal media's" refusal to accept the voters' verdict, fired off a letter to the editor.
"Please show respect for democracy," he wrote, in a letter we published.
What he encountered instead was an utter lack of respect for free speech.
Within hours, the intimidation game was on. Because his real name and city were listed - a condition for publication of letters to The Chronicle - opponents of Prop. 8 used Internet search engines to find the letter writer's small business, his Web site (which included the names of his children and dog), his phone number and his clients. And they posted that information in the "Comments" section of SFGate.com - urging, in ugly language, retribution against the author's business and its identified clients.
"They're intimidating people that don't have the same beliefs as they do ... so they'll be silenced," he told me last week. "It doesn't bode well for the free-speech process. People are going to have to be pretty damn courageous to speak up about anything. Why would anyone want to go through this?"

Respect for democracy hasn’t existed for forty years minimum. And the sad truth is that democracy is dying a slow and lingering death in America. We are no longer a democracy or a republic...we are a massive collection of special interest groups...with little respect...little courage....little morals...and our agendas fly like a kite in the wind (in any direction).

The “backlash” is coming soon, but not from the direction the media and homosexuals think it is. Many people are “up to here” with this nonsense, and any little think might spark it.

Another example of how the homosexual agenda (and all leftist pet projects) have as their ultimate goal complete and total tyranny and elimination of all freedoms guaranteed by the Bill of Rights. No free speech, no right to decide how to raise or educate one's children, no freedom of association, no freedom to practice religion - for starters.
They mean business, they are saturated with hate, aggression, anger, envy and they mean us harm. Anyone still pooh-poohing the "gay" agenda better wise up. They aren't just a bunch of sissies having a fit. And compared to their tiny number, they have a tremendous clout. One might ask - why?? Because leftists love depravity and immorality, for one. And also because the "gay" agenda is a perfect vehicle for tyranny.
Why doesn’t anyone ever turn this nonsense back on them and do the same thing to them? It’s all very well to not stoop to their level, they merely laugh at us for letting them get away with it. They don’t have respect for decency or honor, and it’s killing our side, in many aspects. We’re not opposing people who will play by long-respected rules, they don’t care how dishonorable and vicious they are, even when it gains them nothing, as long as it hurts “the enemy”.
Indeed. If proponents of homosexual lifestyle CHOICES keep aggravating the black community by comparing their ‘civil rights struggle’ to what MLK and others went through, not to mention people like Roseanne Barr saying the black community ‘misused’ their votes along with derogatory terms—well, there might be some rioting going on, and the gay community may bite off more than they can chew!

Does California not have any laws against “uttering a threat” or “indimidation”? Here both are serious crimes with serious consequences.
IIRC “uttering a threat” can attract a sentence of up to 7 years gaol in NZ. I would be surprised if its equivalent charge is much different in California.
Lavender mafia putting on brown shirts.
Most people are heterosexual, and although they may want to indoctrinate children into their alternative lifestyle, human nature is such that people will want to have a normal family. The media is a giant magnifying glass that has made them appear larger than life, but in the end they will always be a minority of the population. Although they may have the support of the media the majority of the people will always be heterosexual. That’s why for as liberal as California may be, the majority of the population keep voting against gay marriage.
Somebody posted that his police officer father always could tell when a murder scene involved homosexuals.
By the blood on the ceiling.
There’s nothing at all that’s “gay” about these people.
Just watch the 1933 and the 2005 versions of “King Kong”.
In the 1933 version, the movie producer is a capitalist that risks his own money with a crew that volunteers to rescue an innocent woman captured by natives. When confronting the natives, they fire over their heads to minimize bloodshed.
In the 2005 version, the movie producer is a “capitalist” criminal scoundrel who absconds with other peoples money, and who lies to the woman to get her cooperation. Then he bullies and forces the crew onto the island for the possibility of his profit, willing for them to take any risk for him. When natives are confronted, he orders them to kill the natives.
The homofacists are a hate driven group.
They may soon become more of a terrorist threat to American citizens then the Islamofacists.

I completely agree with the letter-writer’s views.
So I am sorry to have to say this. In today’s America, it is a mistake to publish personal information about yourself, including your children’s names, on a website.
On the other hand when they are over ruled in a fair 'democratic' election and trumped by a 'simple majority' they cry foul!
Hypocrits, one and all. Each with the morals and social value of a rutting dog.
