Will John McCain be the Republican in Barack Obama's cabinet?

It's standard fare for a president to make a bipartisan gesture by including one member of the opposing party in his cabinet - just as it's always the case (lest we forget) that every president-elect vows to change the tone in Washington and reach out magnanimously to his vanquished opponents.

But John Podesta, the former Bill Clinton former chief of staff who's spearheading the transition for the 44th president, said today that there would be independents and Republicans in Barack Obama's cabinet and "not just at a token level".

I just had a 13 yr old review this thread and he summarized with the following statement,

"Sheesh...the McCain voter in Obama-Ville is a leftist! What's she doing on FR?!

Granted, he's one of these evil, conservative homeschooled kids, so you never can really trust them (wink, nudge :-).

BWAH! :-) LOL! You all DO realize that once again, we've digressed into entertaining ourselves and as time goes forward, we will have forgotten about the troll. On the other hand though, at times like the this the troll can be found sulking. I wonder if it makes them any more miserable to know that we're moving on and simply enjoying ourselves now that we've issued the electronic version of a proper ass whooping? :-) This sort of thing gives real credibility to the saying -

I was seriously put-off by that comment too...How can a person be “decent” when they are in a position of authority, such as a legislator, and repeatedly vote to terminate the life of infants, and then also DENY the right of self-defense to other people?

So how, then, can someone who calls themself a “conservative” make THAT connection?

In order to believe that someone like that is “decent”, you have to be able to hold and agree with two diamtrically-opposing viewpoints. Which, would seem to me, to be the defintion of clinical insanity...or abject and total hypocrisy, or a little of both.

They ain’t here to make a point, they are here to get good effective conservatives like you and NFHale and Golbo_3 banned with their games. Conservatives that do more than just post words here at FR. Conservatives that went out and worked, walked, gave dollars, time and physical effort to try and win this election.

Conservatives that hated 70% of what McCain stood for like amnesty and moderate idealism yet knew they had to wade into that pile of crap and support MCCAIN to defeat Oh’Crap Inc ! People who put country first, people that knew they weren’t going to be able to back a true conservative yet stood AGAINST Obambi to try and save our beloved republic.

Socialist Democrats are Domestic Enemies....nothing less than the criminal that robs the local choke and puke or stop and rob stores. They have the keys , they have the power and they will not be nice or respect all that made this country great up till Nov 4th 2008.
