Barr Votes Would Have Given GOP Wins in North Carolin and Indiana

Posted on 11/10/2008 12:33:31 PM PST by BlueStateBlues

If Barr's votes had gone to Palin and her running mate they would have won North Carolina and Indiana. North Carolina: Obama 49.9%, Palin 49.5%, Barr 0.6$ Indiana Obama 49.9%, Palin 49%, Barr 1.1% This would have been more important in a closer election, but it caught my interest when I looked the figures up.

The true un-media edited Obama will be seen in the next 4 years. He will not gain any votes, and will lose a lot of them. Plus I know 3 people myself that can't believe he won, they didn't vote but will next time. They love country but hate political stuff but have said they learned there lesson.
Let's just get the right person nominated this time. My fear is Palin and Jindal will both run, split Conservative vote then another rhino will win the Republican nomination. We can't let that happen.

Again, the problem is that McCain could not hold a State that has voted Republican since 1964,

IN also reelected its GOP governor, Mitch Daniels, in a landslide. Daniels was the Budget Director for GWB during his first term.

There is no excuse for voting for a Marxist. Enough was known about Obama, or available for knowing, that he should have been defeated by ANY Republican.

The American voters are without excuse. They wanted Obama regardless of what he stood for, and regardless of what McCain stood for. They wanted him and they got him.

Anyone who helped Obama get elected by not voting for McCain gets zero respect from me. The choice was not hard. At all.

“I really think McCain would have been 4 more years of the same.”

The same what? Security from terror attacks? If so, then four more years of the same would have been fine for me.

The dims (crossing over and voting in our primaries) in NH and a couple of other States, nominated juan... not the party... and they gave it to him in NC... same rats and indies that voted for zero.

give the third party voters some incentive to vote for them

I would think that they would be unhappy at the obama victory. If we ran the election again, would they still vote Barr? Probably many of them. Sadly, to many of them, their selfish principal is more important than the whole outcome of the election.

Any theories about an Obama landslide are extremely delusional.

Exactly.

These are landslides

These are not

Any theories about an Obama landslide are extremely delusional.

There were a 1/2 dozen states that were very close and about 1/2 dozen more that were within 10%, more than enough to get an electoral majority if we dont run another McCain.

It wasn't a landslide, but it certainly was a decisive defeat. If you tally up the electoral votes of those states in which Obama won by 10% or more, you get 262. Throw in Iowa (Obama +9) and Colorado (+6) and he's over 270 without any of the closer states at all.

I totally agree with everything you have said. Wasting one's vote is exactly what they did, and what the 20% of conservatives who voted for Hussein did as well.

Somtimes I think people that are that hardcore stuck on their position get exactly what they deserve. I held my nose and voted for McCain solely because of Sarah Palin. Many of McCain views and positions drove me to extraction. And McCain ran such a poor campaign for a man who has been running for President all these years.

Hussein Obama is going to do far more harm than McCain as a RINO was going to do to the country. Yes I know what many of them argued that four years of Obama will give us twenty years of Republicans in the White House. That is assuming there is anything left of the country to be worth having.....

Okay. So what’s the GOP going to do about it? Piss and moan or move towards true traditional conservatism?

Therefore, you had Indiana Republicans voting for their Governor right after the hit the button for Obama.

Just Great,

Yes, but don’t you know that at the end of the day liberdopians feel so good about themselves. Hope they love the H*ll out of what they are going to get from Hussein Obama.

No, they'll whine about Obama in time. That's all Losertarians ever do -- complain about how bad everyone else is. They are like spoiled kids who throw a fit every time things don't go 100% their way, which is pretty much constantly.

You're kidding, right?

What kind of incentive do Americans need to convince them to not vote for a Marxist?

If people want to live in a welfare state, what Republican could POSSIBLY in any way, shape or form attract their vote?

Third party voters are completely ignorant of how the American political system works. Your post demonstrates the essential irony:

According to you, TPL (third party losers) voted TP because the Republicans "doubled the size of government in 8 years."

Even if you're correct, by voting TP, those idiot voters helped elect an administration that will double the size of government every 2 months in perpetuity. Think LBJ was in office barely 4 years and his Great Society/Welfare State will NEVER be fully dismantled.

So, they refused to vote for "big government" Republicans, and therefore helped elect Marxist Democrats.

Wonder why they are reviled and their whining is abhorred?

No different than the many posters I used to talk with who claimed they would "never" vote for McCain because he wasn't sufficiently pro-life. Thanks a lot: every refusal to vote for McCain helped elect the most virulently pro-abortion/pro-death president in history. And will give that pro-death president at least 2 Supreme Court picks, which will get through the Rat-majority Congress. It's just idiotic.

I pretty much agree with you 100%. I’m a small government guy myself, but we live in a nation where only two political parties are viable. If you really want progress in this country, you must work within the GOP, warts and all.

We also need to continue to speak out against this point of view.

We have to keep educating on how dumb and dangerous it is to waste one’s vote.
