Carl Cameron just said McCain campaign shocked to discover Sarah Palin did not realize Africa was a continent, believing instead that it was a country. She did not know the countries in NAFTA. She refused offered preparation for the Couric interview and threw temper tantrums over adverse press.
Wow. Dumping on Sarah in a big way. Shep asked how on Earth the McCain camp could have ended up picking such a dope (not exact words, but sense of what he said).
They did point out she seemed to help the polling numbers.
I knew this was going to be the template, but I was surprised at the level of nastiness on Fox News. Looks like elements of the McCain campaign is determined to make her the scapegoat for the loss. (Couldn't have been anything about the man at the top of the ticket.)
Fox News: Palin didn't know Africa was a continent You Tube
I think is was a calculated decision by McCain. He knew he had nothing. He had no money and no one cared about his candidacy so he did the expedient thing which was use Palin to save his sorry campaign.
She did her job but she was too good and made him look like the “old man” that he really is. There is a lot of ego in McCain and he didn’t like it and neither did the RINOs that surrounded him.
I love Bobby Jindal.
I hope we can organize a Real Conservative Party in the next four years and ditch all the RINOs.
Wish I had Soros’s money. I would do it in a flash.
Yes, because of McCain NOT Palin, she was the ONLY reason he even had a chance. The trashing of Sarah Palin right is one of the most disgusting things I have ever seen from republicans, they make me vomit.
“After 4 years!”
Correction!
After 4 Weeks, Americans will have severe buyer’s remorse regarding their selection of B. Obama HUSSEIN!!
Where did you get moderates and independents not liking her and will NEVER vote for her? Maybe they thought she wasn’t ready so it was a no go but if she came back 4 years later going through the primary process with all the debates she’ll have to do.
Everyone will know by then if she has what it takes and get the votes if she’s good.
I have a source who knows someone who has it on good authority that Carl is gay; not that there's anything wrong with that!
I find it difficult to believe that he actually saw this because he seems to genuinely like Sarah Palin.
Heck all....I'm not the smartest dude in the tent....but I know the MSM / DBM wants to disembowel me.
McCain probably STILL trusts the MSM...to do the right thing.
!##$^**)!! McCain....I didn't like that he was dumped on us...and I tried to like the guy. But that's over......
Great metaphorical image!
“Not knowing all the members in NAFTA?”
It’s akin to “What about Dingell-Norwood?”
So what? What a lame thing to throw at our Sarah!
Emphasis on three words: smart, conservative, communicate. I don't know who that will be right now. Palin made some Quayle-esque statement blunders in this campaign that concern me...but she has a couple years to brush up. I hope to see her in the Senate with Stevens' seat.
If true that she thought Africa was a country...couldn't name the countries of NAFTA...I mean, those are things my sister-in-law probably doesn't know (LOL) but is the bare minimum a president needs to know. That being said, she was a big plus for McCain and has a chance to show herself as the conservative standard-bearer in 2012.
O’Reilly is going to cover this with Carl Cameron now on the Factor! Tune in everyone!
Yeah, I've seen these "reports", which are second-hand rumors of dark whispers from Romney acolytes (which is what exactly?). No quotes from Romney, nay, not even quotes from these acolytes, who are no longer working for Romney, whose campaign long ago ended.
I've supported Romney at FR. Am I an acolyte? I think Palin is great, was a boost to the campaign (probably better than Mitt would been) but would have been even greater if she had greater interviewing prowess. There, now you've got equivocal-about-Sarah quote from a Romney acolyte! You are no longer reliant on rumors from reputable web sites. Have at it.
I’m sure this whole thing rushed Sarah into a position she wasn’t completely prepared for, but even so, she was the only energy in the McCain campaign, and she worked hard and steady. McCain thought he was going to be the darling of independents and moderates, and he failed miserably. If Sarah hadn’t energized the base, McCain would have suffered a blowout. All this nonsense is nothing but the first salvo in the struggle for the heart of the Republican Party. It’s the same garbage that flew around after 2006. In 2010 and 2012 Republicans will have a real chance to come back, so long as the RINOs aren’t front and center again.
Tell me what is RINO about her...
Then tell me what you would have done different.
If the Messiah's IQ is 149, I'm Amy Winehouse.
With all the constant bickering over who’s “not a true conservative,” we should take careful note of the fact that nobody ever accused Sarah Palin of it.
Not likely, since the same outfit claims Biden’s is 146.
I had a very bad feeling that the Noonan and Parker wing of the GOP were going to toss Sarah under the bus, and sure enough they are out in full force today. The simple fact is that Gov. Palin energized the base more than any other VP pick could have, and was probably the only thing that keep the popular vote reasonably close. The power-mad old guard of the GOP can kiss my ass (and a lot of others), because I’m done with them and their incompetence.
