Hours after McCain's election loss, the Alaska governor demurred on her own potential presidential bid in 2012.

How much WORSE would our loses in Congress and the Senate have been without Palin on the ticket to increase GOP turnout?

For starters, AK would’ve probably been a loss (Stevens and Young, that is) and Conservative turnout would’ve been depressed all over, meaning so many members that eked out a win this time would’ve gotten wiped out. The only thing McCain did smartly was pick Palin. Had he gone with Lieberman or Slick Willard, the Dems would’ve gained 50 in the House and we’d be in the high 30s in the Senate.

They are beginning to denigrate her already though, even on Fox.

Exit polls show Palin appeared to help McCain by energizing the pro-life Republican base and were motivated by her selection to support him.

Sarah was the only thing that turned my vote against Obama into a vote for McCain.

I heard her make one comment on illegal immigration that sounded an awful lot like Juan. I’m hoping that was team play vs core values. It would trouble me somewhat anyway, but as the second person on a ticket, you do have to moderate a bit.

I wouldn’t mind asking her some questions myself. That being said, first blush she looks so much better than anyone else out there that I am aware of as far as Conservative values go.

Her Alaskan views tweak the sensitivities of the left on several points. That’s a plus for me right there.
