Occasionally people mistake me for a retired professor, not encouraged; more often they think I'm a poor speller; in an earlier life I was one of the first kicked off for excessive vanities and pled my way back on (something I'm still unproud of); this weekend I became for the first time a sports nut; not sports in general but one underrated, unappreciated team resurrected by an audacious break with political correctness, rescued by a frustrated coach and victorious climaxes.
Obama's team is zero wins, zero losses; Obama is the undisputed league leader, the Titans are still in flyover country - what gives?
I've been here a long time, some know that, most don't.
I'm not leaving, I'm just taking a vow of silence for 48 hours; events will dictate the future.
Wherever I look, whatever I hear, there's a growing drumbeat, O Bam A, Obama, OBAMA!
Why?
They haven't won one game, they have a field full of cheerleaders and no running backs and the officials all wear press passes for badges and stripes.
Their front line is made up clipboard wielding mousey little guys and mouthy waddling women, the quarterback is more whirling dervish than hard-charging; in the backfield they have janitors, more familier with brooms and mops than hot, sweaty footballs.
Before this tortured metaphor collapses under its own weight, I feel obligated to confess that I am a proud non-voter determined to ignore the unimportant issues of the world like nuclear holocaust, economic meltdown and, especially this ongoing pillow fight over who gets stuck with the wet spot.
For the time being, I'll dull the tip, cap the inkwell and park the pen.
Play Ball!
Carry on . . .
I cast my vote for McCain-Palin last week but would like to see changes with the way the primaries and debates are handled in the future.
And the FEC should just close shop as it is clear that they have zero interest in actually enforcing their laws.
As I have already voted and do not have a “call list” nor an interest in giving it my time tomorrow night, I will be jumping around the radio dial as best I can to avoid the he-said/he-said/no-I-didnt-say vollies as people bring up evidence of Obama’s socialist agenda that should have been in tv ads this SUMMER and should have been addressed in the debates.
Redistribution of wealth is a Marxist concept. McCain should have asked Obama what the difference between his plan and Marxism was. The “S” word doesn’t mean much to some people these days. They see it as the “counter” to the “fascist” charge.
Anyway, I don’t have a tv. I won’t get to see the partisan press do their last to try to ensure their guy wins. I’ve already tuned out.
If McCain does get a clear victory on Tuesday night I regret that I will miss Katie Couric crying as the news is delivered (as she did on election night 2000). Somebody please Youtube it for me.
Life must go on regardless. But I do question what kind of life it will be if the New Left, who were bomb throwing radcials in the 1960s and 1970, the ones who always sided with Communist nations, come to power. I do question what will become of this nation if they hold all of the branches of government (and ram their nominees into the Supreme Court with no power in Congress to oppose their supermajority).
Bump for missing tagline
I wish everybody would follow your lead and not post vanities for 48 hours.
Good trading and best wishes for another tasty profit!
