The Worst Case Scenario Under Obama (Vanity)
10-27-2008 | Entrepreneur

Posted on 10/27/2008 4:01:30 PM PDT by Entrepreneur

"We cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives we've set. We've got to have a civilian national security force that's just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded."
-Barack Obama, July 2008

“I don’t believe people should be able to own guns.”
-Barack Obama, Comment made to John Lott, author of More Guns, Less Crime

The more people learn about Barack Obama the scarier he seems. Pete DuPont, writing in the Wall Street Journal, identified seven sure results of an Obama presidency with a Pelosi/Reid congress...

1. The U.S. military will withdraw from Iraq quickly and substantially, regardless of conditions on the ground or the obvious consequence of emboldening terrorists there and around the globe.

2. Protectionism will become our national trade policy; free trade agreements with other nations will be reduced and limited.

3. Income taxes will rise on middle- and upper-income people and businesses, and individuals will pay much higher Social Security taxes, all to carry out the new president's goals of "spreading the wealth around."

4. Federal government spending will substantially increase. The new Obama proposals come to more than $300 billion annually, for education, health care, energy, environmental and many other programs, in addition to whatever is needed to meet our economic challenges. Mr. Obama proposes more than a 10% annual spending growth increase, considerably higher than under the first President Bush (6.7%), Bill Clinton (3.3%) or George W. Bush (6.4%).

5. Federal regulation of the economy will expand, on everything from financial management companies to electricity generation and personal energy use.

6. The power of labor unions will substantially increase, beginning with repeal of secret ballot voting to decide on union representation.

7. Free speech will be curtailed through the reimposition of the Fairness Doctrine to limit the conservative talk radio that so irritates the liberal establishment.

Those who have studied economics and the Great Depression know that this is the recipe for a repeat performance. But what if that’s just the beginning? What if it’s worse?

People who are paying attention to the election have some idea of Obama’s true views. Unfortunately, most people (and certainly most Obama supporters) have no clue. Obama is running a deceptive campaign. He’s positioning himself as a moderate, promising tax cuts, changing positions, and attempting to sound reasonable. The revealing exceptions are small snippets when Obama is caught off-guard, such as the “Joe the Plumber” encounter.

When Americans figure out what’s happened, one can expect an uprising… or not. Americans may not be able to figure out what’s happening. How so?

Combine the mainstream media’s total loss of objectivity with the silencing of talk radio through the Fairness Doctrine and the Obama campaign’s track record of “punishing” challengers from the media like Barbara West and the average citizen may be only slightly more likely than the average resident of China to learn the truth about the world.

When asked tough questions, Obama’s surrogates make the questioner the issue. How long before Obama’s surrogates try to destroy popular bloggers critical of Obama by subjecting them to smear jobs, exposing and distorting every aspect of their lives, rather than respond to a legitimate question? If it could happen to Joe The Plumber, who is an average citizen save for the “audacity to question,” then no one is safe.

Even if the average citizen figures out what Obama’s government is doing to him, he may not have the ability to rise up.

Consider the silencing of the opposition media.

Consider the institutional voter fraud and corruption of the U.S. justice system, subordinating democracy.

Consider Obama’s stunning and under reported statement in July about his plans to create a Civilian National Security Force equal in size and funding with the army (i.e., the statement captured on YouTube that was scrubbed from the speech transcript a la “Big Brother” as noted on Free Republic). Without opposition in a Pelosi/Reid congress, there’s no check, no stop, and nothing to prevent Obama from creating his “Civilian National Security Force.”

Consider John Lott’s encounter with Obama at the start of Obama's political career when Obama said he doesn’t think citizens should have the right to own guns.

Add it up for yourself. You might think, “Nah, no way. This could never happen.” Consider that according to an Op/Ed piece by Adam Lerrick in the Wall Street Journal, “three out of every five voters will pay little or nothing in income taxes under Mr. Obama's plans and gain when taxes rise on the 40% that already pays 95% of income tax revenues.”

Recall the warning of Lord Thomas MacCauley…

"A democracy cannot survive as a permanent form of government. It can last only until its citizens discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority (who vote) will vote for those candidates promising the greatest benefits from the public purse, with the result that a democracy will always collapse from loose fiscal policies, always followed by a dictatorship."

Remember, in a 2001 interview on Chicago Public Radio, Obama declared the Constitution “reflected the fundamental flaw of this country that continues to this day.” Obama considers the Constitution a “remarkable political document” but one that is flawed. Would he uphold what he perceives to be a "flawed" Constitution, “interpret” it as he wishes, or ignore it altogether?

Maybe our worst fears about Obama won’t be realized, but why risk it? Why risk the potential destruction of our democracy and liberty on a radical politician who masks his true beliefs and who gets scarier and scarier the more we learn?

If you are not frightened, you should be. I am. More than any other time in the post war era, our country is in grave peril and the greatest danger is from within, not without. Vote accordingly.

“A para-military patrolling our streets - entering our homes without warrants”

Sounds like a target-rich environment for sharp shooting patriots.

I’ve been raised in bush country - more woods/forests in my area - I hike, camp and am now learning paintball - I’ve even made my own ghillie suit .... problem is, we’d be fighting Americans, just like the the Civil War ....(OKA The War of Secession)

Obamas plan for the military is a simple one. Get rid of it !
There will be no new weapons research, he will start to rid the country of nuclear weapons. He’ll cut the military budget 25%. He will also stop work on missile defense. And these are only a few of the things he says that he will do.The truth is most likely much scarier than Halloween .

Now if Obama went before the UN and requested UN troops to help patrol our street .... blue helmets make pretty good targets ....

we’d be fighting Americans,

The people we would be fighting left America behind a long time ago.

I’m aware of who’d be doing the fighting. Our only hope is the local cops and county sheriffs will stand up against these jack boots.

But I also know the sheriff in Waco didn’t stand up to them. He just simply told them he would have nothing to do with it. He told them all they had to do was call Koresh and he’d turn himself in. I knew the sheriff back then.

Your writing should also mention several other elements, for instance:

- the greatly increased incidence of desertion and resignations by members of that portion of the Armed Forces not involved in national defense;

- the substantial increase of “hot” civil unrest particularly upon the commencement of operations by O’s Civil National Security Force.

Wilson was the first socialist President. FDR was a socialist, too. I didn't know until recently how close the government came to following the fascist model in the 1930s. Apparently, a lot of FDR's close advisors really pushed for it, and liked what Mussolini did in Italy. Luckily, one of the few things you can credit FDR with is a desire not to completely overthrow the US Constitution. (He didn't mind, however, twisting it into a pretzel.)

Truman was not a socialist. Kennedy was not a socialist. LBJ was not a socialist in his core beliefs, but he implemented a socialist policy in a desperate effort to be loved. Carter was a socialist. Clinton was a socialist, but after 2 disastrous years, turned pragmatic.

With Obama, we will have a full-blown marxist at the helm. Not a Dem on the liberal side, but a true believing "spread the wealth", "redistributive" marxist. Not just that, but he has the authoritarian streak that the Democratic socialists who preceded him did not have. He is not a fan of free speech, religion, guns, white people and big business. We are in for a rough ride, if this guy wins. Fight.

Maybe he means the Red Guard.

I wonder what the recruiting poster would look like, or, would Obama just institute the draft for civilian purposes?

An Ordinance to dissolve the union between the State of Alabama and the other States united under the compact styled “The Constitution of the United States of America”

Whereas, the election of Abraham Lincoln and Hannibal Hamlin to the offices of president and vice-president of the United States of America, by a sectional party, avowedly hostile to the domestic institutions and to the peace and security of the people of the State of Alabama, preceded by many and dangerous infractions of the constitution of the United States by many of the States and people of the Northern section, is a political wrong of so insulting and manacing a character as to justify the people of the State of Alabama in the adoption of prompt and decided measures for their future peace and security, therefore:

Be it declared and ordained by the people of the State of Alabama, in Convention assembled, That the State of Alabama now withdraws, and is hereby withdrawn from the Union known as “the United States of America,” and henceforth ceases to be one of said United States, and is, and of right ought to be a Sovereign and Independent State.

good points. A few plausible things I can forsee:

Church’s non-profit status getting put in question if moral issues like anti-abortion are preached about.

Hate Crimes for preaching against homosexuality

Government will use information from Google to see what republican politician or supporter has looked at nudey sites.

the real problem is if obama and the democrats start winning elections with 99% of the vote like Mugabe, Saddam and countless Soviet officials.
