Obama, who arrived on his campaign aircraft around 7:20 p.m., immediately traveled under police escort to the Punahou-area apartment of his grandmother, Madelyn Dunham, who is reportedly gravely ill with cancer.
After an hourlong visit, the Hawaii-born senator left for the Hyatt Regency Waikiki.
Obama expects to leave tonight and return to the campaign trail in Nevada tomorrow

I must admit, if that is what happened, I’m surprised she was released from the hospital so soon.

I have seen a photo of page out of an Indonesian passport.
Saying that his nationality is Indonesian. And he is Muslim.
That is posted on the Internet.
I don’t think he has an American passport — because he is not an American.

When my day died of (brain) cancer he had hung on bravely for over 6 months. Look at Ted Kennedy. You comment is snarky and meaningless. BTW, I had cancer and am still around! My comment is not snarky at all. If his Grandma is in such grave shape, why is she still in her apartment, and why did Obama wait 3 days and do numerous interviews on the subject before being photographed the entire way there and back?
"Snark" would be for me to say they are going to euthanize grandma, this is why she is "grave", and this is why there is no real reason to drop everything at once, but I won't go there. Congrats on beating your cancer, but when all of us found out my grandma was in GRAVE condition, we dropped everything and barely made it to the hospital to visit her.
I happen to think that there is nothing that this man, under the Alinsky model, will not do to fool the masses into voting for him.

The Hyatt in Waikiki is rated a 4 star hotel...some gave it 5. If Obama is camped out in the Penthouse, it’s a 5.

If his Grandma is in such grave shape, why is she still in her apartment? Two words
Hospice Care. That assumes that she is actually at death's door.
She may be sick, but that is just cover for the visit. The actual reason may be to make sure his actual birth cert. never sees the light of day.

Can people be under hospice care at home?
House arrest more likely. Muckraker Andy Martin is in Honolulu, seeking the release of the birth certificate in a petition to the Hawaii Supreme Court.

Hospice can’t keep you alive. Waiting three days until she is in hospice care while DANCING WITH ELLEN DEGENERES in the meantime is not right.

After all the hubbub about his visiting his dying grandmother
and he stays for an hour then leaves???
Probably just came to assure grandma that even after he
signs the socialized medicine for America bill...
he'd make sure any euthanasia clause that might be in there
didn't apply to her.
(I'd love to say I'm only being sarcastic. But with Obama,
this isn't out of the realm of possibility.)

I’ve no idea if she is or is not under hospice care; but yes, we have always done hospice care with our older relatives at home.

Andy Martin is back in CONUS. He did a Press Conference in NYC today. Don’t know the results of the suit yet.

NOBODY flies to Hawaii for a one hour visit. I got sent to Argentina once for a 1-day stay to swap out a citcuit board for the Y2K prevention stuff. I had to fly from Los Angeles to Miami, then take a 15 hour flight to Argentina... spent one night and did the whole trip again back to L.A. What was even worse is that I had to do this over the weekend because they didn't want me to miss too many weekdays at the office!

My comment has to do with your implication that people suffering from cancer are doomed to die within hours. That is demonstrably wrong. I don’t disagree with your questioning his actions, only that implication.
Unless you have had a doctor tell you YOU HAVE CANCER, you cannot understand the shock, fear, anxiety, denial and all the other feelings that hit you like a semi-tractor trailer truck. TO pass it off as an ‘oh well you are gonna be room temp in a few short days’ is crass and just plain SNARKY.

I actually bought this BS from Obama earlier this week, but after witnessing his immediate inaction, and seeing his wife and kids can't even make the trip to visit the WOMAN WHO BASICALLY RAISED HER HUSBAND, tells me that either this is a stunt, or that the Obama family is extremely messed up. Sorry, but normal people don't smile and dance with Ellen Degeneres while the woman who raised them is on death's door. My Mom has worked with hospice; it's not a “I'll die when I want to” scenario. When hospice is called, get there IMMEDIATELY.

Yea. It is weird, isn't it. I would think, that if she was at death's door, he would have taken the children, if not his wife. He went for my second reason, or something else where he HAD to be in Hawaii.

Please. I’m not that naive. I wasn’t clear enough, but once I heard that my grandmother was in GRAVE condition, we all got to her bedside as quickly as we could. My Dad was 5 hours away and barely made it. We knew about the cancer for a few months prior to her death, but when the doctors said “get here”, well, we got there, and my Grandma could barely hang on to see my Dad. I told her, alone, that he was coming, she was basically unconscious, and only God allowed him to visit her one last time.

“And his dear, sweet wife didnt accompany him to visit grandma.”
Michelle My Belle was campaigning today for him. I only heard the part in which she spoke about his grandmother - - she helped raise him you know.
