My comment has to do with your implication that people suffering from cancer are doomed to die within hours. That is demonstrably wrong. I don’t disagree with your questioning his actions, only that implication.
Unless you have had a doctor tell you YOU HAVE CANCER, you cannot understand the shock, fear, anxiety, denial and all the other feelings that hit you like a semi-tractor trailer truck. TO pass it off as an ‘oh well you are gonna be room temp in a few short days’ is crass and just plain SNARKY.
Please. I’m not that naive. I wasn’t clear enough, but once I heard that my grandmother was in GRAVE condition, we all got to her bedside as quickly as we could. My Dad was 5 hours away and barely made it. We knew about the cancer for a few months prior to her death, but when the doctors said “get here”, well, we got there, and my Grandma could barely hang on to see my Dad. I told her, alone, that he was coming, she was basically unconscious, and only God allowed him to visit her one last time.
